Right at Home offers seniors and others the ability to remain safely independent in their own homes. Whether it is for extra assistance after a stay in a hospital, an aging parent who needs help to remain independent, or a respite for someone providing care for a loved one, Right at Home can help.
Like many in the industry, Mary Farmer's interest in home care grew out of personal experience. Ms. Farmer's mother became ill in 1989 and passed six months later; her father followed in 2003. Losing one's parents is certainly never easy, but struggling with the responsibilities of a new family in New Mexico and caring long distance for parents in Kentucky during their last days seemed almost impoossible. Ms. Farmer became acutely aware of the value and growing need for home care services.
In July, 2003 Ms. Farmer decided to open a home care company in Albuquerque. After researching several franchise opportunities, she chose Right at Home. Right at Home was compelling because of a strong national presence, a high level of support and company values that are consistent with the Right at Home mission statement "to improve the quality of life for those we serve."
Ms. Farmer's professional background began in education. She was a college English instructor until she ventured into education sales. In 1990, Ms. Farmer began work as a text book marketing representative and consultant and handled the New Mexico state adoption campaigns for several publishers including Scholastic; Rigby; and Holt, Rinehart, & Winston. She marketed early literacy, math, English, social studies, and porofessional development materials to elementary and secondary schools in New Mexico and El Paso County, Texas.
Mary Farmer obtained her B.A. in English from University of Kentucky and her M.A. in English from Eastern Kentucky University. She did two years of post-graduate work at Purdue University.
Right at Home of Albuquerque provides home care service throughout the Albuquerque area and surrounding counties.
Right at Home's staff were very professional, understanding, and helpful with my family; they were willing to go the extra step and to be contacted at all hours. I was amazed how quickly Right at Home was able to get a caregiver in my Grandparents' home and help them immediately. They went through the process of finding a quality caregiver that specifically fit my Grandparents' personality and needs. It was a pretty efficient process all around.
