Right at Home Listed Among Best Places to Work in Twin Cities Survey
A Twin Cities survey searching for the best workplaces in the region confirmed what Right at Home employees already knew: Right at Home is a perfect fit for caring people looking for a fulfilling career.
“I am very passionate about the services we offer, and so grateful to have a career that enables me to give back to my community. It’s a wonderful feeling to know that my employees are inspired to feel the same way,” said Right at Home Twin Cities franchisee Paul Blom.
Based on 113 Right at Home employee surveys, the in-home care company was rated third among mid-sized employers (organizations with 150 to 499 employees) in the 100 Top Workplaces. The survey, executed by the Star Tribune and Pennsylvania-based research firm WorkplaceDynamics, had 169 companies and 33,193 employees participate.
In the survey, employees from all organizations reported they are most fulfilled when they feel “genuinely appreciated,” believe the company is “going in the right direction,” and have “confidence in the leader of the organization.”
“Caring for each of my clients is like caring for my own family. I am always well informed about each one and I have never been disappointed. When I have a question about anything, the staff is always there,” one Right at Home employee survey read.
For Blom, who has the office phone forwarded to his cell 24/7 and has been known to make jam for the company’s clients on his days off, that’s exactly what leadership should be about.
“To me, the role of leader is more closely correlated to the role of servant ... if I can improve the quality of life of the people who work beside me in the office, they will be inspired to improve the quality of life of the care staff out in the field, who will then be inspired to improve the quality of life of the clients,” Blom said in a Star Tribune interview about the 100 Top Workplaces winners.
