Homemaker/Companion
Job Summary Provides for the maintenance of safe and clean environment. Performs various housekeeping tasks, meal preparation and companionship activities for clients in their residences. Essential Functions Adheres to Right at Home policies and procedures. Performs work under the supervision of the Staffing Coordinator/Operations Manager. Performs homemaking activities contained in the Client Home Record which includes, but is not limited to: vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, laundry, and cleaning bathrooms. Prepares meals and snacks for client according to client/family and supervisor’s instructions. May perform grocery shopping, if prearranged with the office. Provides companionship for the client including accompanying client on walks, trips to social/recreational activities, assistance with hobbies, etc. The homemaker is responsible for written documentation of service provided. The homemaker should not contact the physician directly, but rather refer all questions or reports to the supervisor. The homemaker will NOT perform any of the following: Personal care services such as bathing, dressing, and shaving Any heavy lifting or transferring of clients. Administering of any medications, ointments, eye drops, etc. Heavy duty household chores such as washing walls, waxing floors, washing windows, etc. Household repairs or maintenance Cut the fingernails or toenails of any client Additional (non-essential) Functions Performs other duties as directed by the supervisor. Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Availability High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred. The Homemaker/Companion shall have successfully completed a written Competency Evaluation. Must have a sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick, and the ability to deal effectively with the demands of the job. Read, write, speak, and understand English as needed for the job. Have valid driver’s license and use of an insured automobile for work or access to adequate transportation. Working Conditions/Environment Primarily works in client’s place of residence, travel required. Shift times and days vary with client needs. Note/Special Instructions May be called upon to perform additional tasks as required by supervisor.

Certified Nursing Aide (CNA)
Job Summary Performs nurse aide duties that provide for the physical and emotional needs of the assigned patients. Essential Functions Adheres to RAH Staffing Services policies and State Practice Act. Performs work under the supervision of the Supervising Nurse. Performs nurse aides duties, not limited to: personal care of the patient (bathing, dressing, or hygiene, toileting activities and feeding), transferring and ambulation activities, range of motion exercises, vital signs (temperature, pulse rate, respiration rate, and blood pressure), and post mortem care. Receives direction from licensed nurses in planning and carrying out nursing aide care. Observes and reports to the licensed nurse the physical and psychological condition of the patient including any changes. Reports safety hazards and unusual incidents involving patients, visitors or self to the Supervising Nurse and to the office. Performs the following, provided that he/she has been trained, demonstrated competency and it is within the facility policy and state law; enemas, colostomy care, wound care and catheter care. The Certified Nurse Aide will NOT perform any of the following: taking or transcribing physician orders preparing and administering parental medications activities outside the Scope of Practice for CNA as outlined in the State Practice Act. Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Availability Graduate of a state approved Certified Nurse Aide course. Six months experience within the past 2 years as a Certified Nurse Aide. Currently certified in the state as a Certified Nurse assistant. Passing score on RAH’s Nurse Aide Competency exam. Meets the health requirements for employees providing direct patient care. Read, write, speak, and understand English as needed for the job. Have valid driver’s license and use of an insured automobile for work or access to adequate transportation. Annual tuberculin skin test or x-ray and periodic health statement signed by a licensed health examiner and any other health tests or immunizations required by facility. Working Conditions/Environment Primarily works in facilities, travel required. Shift times and days vary.
