Home health company Right at Home Mid-Cities plans to expand its footprint to add 40 to 50 new employees by the end of the year.
The company, which opened in January, currently has about 20 employees, but it wants to increase its roster of companion caregivers and certified nursing assistants to meet the rising demand for elderly care in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford, North Richland Hills, Watauga, Haltom City, Colleyville, Arlington and East Fort Worth areas.
Although there are a number of other companies that provide nonmedical, in-home care in the region, the need for more caregivers for those over age 55 is growing, said Lorri Pratt, owner and president of Right at Home Mid-Cities. About 18% of the population is made up of that age group, according to population estimates of the Mid-Cities area, but that is expected to grow.
Currently there are more than 1,000 home health and in-home care agencies throughout the Metroplex, and there’s still enough demand in the community that more businesses keeping springing up to meet the need, said Robert Carpenter, CEO and president of the Visiting Nurse Association of Texas, a nonprofit home health agency in Dallas.
