Who We Are
Michael Manes opened the Dayton Office of Right at Home in 2005. He has a business, sales and marketing background. Michael came to Dayton from New York in 1985 to attend the University of Dayton where he was general manager of the campus radio station and worked professionally at WHIO and WVUD. He graduated from U.D. in 1989 with a degree in communications and marketing. After graduation, he worked in New York City and Dayton for Lexis-Nexis as well as several IT firms in the Dayton and Cincinnati area.
Michael, along with his wife, learned about care-giving firsthand as the parents of a young daughter and a set of triplets. They also watched and assisted as grandparents and other elders dealt with the issues associated with aging.
Michael wanted to provide a better, more independent life choice to seniors and their families and wanted to make a difference in the lives of others. He has always enjoyed pulling up a chair and listening to the elderly share their memories and life wisdom. In 2007, he expanded the growing business to include providing services to individuals in the community with developmental disabilities.
In 2010, in conjunction with other providers of senior services, he Co-founded and started the Miami Valley Homecare Association, a non-profit organization that brings providers together to find solutions and improve care to seniors and the developmentally disabled.
It is an honor every day to serve others in their homes and provide them with the type of care that they deserve. Receiving the RightCare Award was another honor. It wouldn't have been possible if not for my clients. I always think of them first. I do my job because I love to do it and not because I expect to receive any gifts or an award. To me the award is just as special as receiving a smiley face from a client, showing their appreciation.
