Alzheimer's Disease Warning Signs

Dementia is a slow decline in memory, thinking and reasoning. Alzheimer's disease is the most common form of Dementia. The Alzheimer's Association has released their 10 warning signs of Alzheimer's disease. Below are warning signs to be aware of, which may require more in depth assessments and monitoring:

  • Memory changes that disrupt daily life
  • Challenges in planning or solving problems
  • Difficulty completing familiar tasks
  • Trouble understanding spatial relationships and visual images
  • Confusion with time and place
  • New problems with words in writing and speaking
  • Misplacing things and losing the ability to retrace steps
  • Decreased or poor judgment
  • Withdrawal from work or social activities
  • Changes in mood and personality
