About our Local Office - Galveston
Right at Home, Greater Galveston area is a locally owned and operated business providing in-home living and companion services. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for those we serve. We do this by providing high quality caregivers to serve you.
Our caregivers are carefully screened, trained, insured, bonded and supervised to ensure we provide our clients the highest quality care and service possible. We are also licensed by the Department of Aging and Disability Services to provide personal care. Our goal is to help create a safe and secure atmosphere that focuses on maintaining the client's dignity and independence. This is done by providing assistance for a variety of life's daily activities including:
- Light housekeeping
- Medication reminders
- Meal preparation
- Laundry
- Errands, shopping and transportation
- Assistance with dressing/undressing
- Assistance with Bathing/Showering/Walking
Right At Home, Greater Galveston area is locally owned and operated by Kristen Carlson (pictured left). Prior to opening the Galveston RAH office, Kristen worked for over twelve years in medical management (8 years at the University of Texas Medical Branch and 5 years at the Center of Reproductive Medicine). Prior to moving to Galveston, she worked as a Financial Analyst at First Boston Corp in New York City. Kristen has a bachelor's degree in Sociology and an MBA from University of Houston Clear Lake.
Kristen, her husband Mark Greenwalt and their two children have lived in Galveston since 1993. Kristen is actively involved in the Galveston Rotary club and was named Most Valuable Member in June 2009 and currently serves on the Board of Directors. Kristen received her accredidation as a "Certified Senior Advisor" from the Society of Certified Senior Advisors in 2010. Kristen’s aunt, Estelle Greenwalt, was a great source of inspiration for opening the Right at Home office in Galveston. Estelle, a lifelong Galveston resident, was able to live happily at home until her death at the age of 91. Being able to provide safe, exceptional service to enable others like Estelle to stay 'right at home' as they grow older is what RAH Galveston is all about.
Mandi Yarbrough worked as a caregiver for Right at Home for over a year before recently assuming the role of Staffing Coordinator. She is responsible for hiring and managing the caregiving staff. Mandi lives in Galveston with her daughter, Isis.
Marisa Yu is the newest addition to our Galveston office. She was a caregiver for Right at Home before moving to the Office as an Administrative Assistant.
