CAHSAH Certification

Did You Know?

Non-medical home Care agencies are the only unlicensed, unregulated health care services in California. In fact, the only requirement to provide home care services in a person's home is a business license. As home care continues to become the nation's fastest growing industry, Right at Home of Mt Diablo has aligned ourselves with the standards set by California Association of Health Services at Home (CAHSAH), and we continually strive to promote the utmost in ethical, quality care.

CAHSAH's certification standards seek to protect the consumer, caregiver and home care agencies. Without oversight and accountability, many consumers and family members pay the price as they place caregivers into their loved one's homes believing the person entering their home has been thoroughly screened, trained and properly insured.

What does CAHSAH certification mean to you?  It guarantees that we are a full-service agency and that we annually provide documentation to show that we meet the following  standards:

  • General and Professional Liability Insurance
  • Workers’ Compensation Insurance
  • Pre-employment Criminal Background Clearance on Each Individual Hired as a Home Care Aide
  • Employee Dishonesty Bond
  • Pre-employment Tuberculosis Screening for Each Individual Hired as a Home Care Aide
  • Service Agreement including a Specification of Fees

Right at Home will continue to advocate for high standards and accountability from all home care providers. We are proud to be one a few Contra Costa County agencies recognized as an exemplary agency in California and are confident in our ability to provide valuable services throughout the Central Contra Costa community.

It is an honor every day to serve others in their homes and provide them with the type of care that they deserve. Receiving the RightCare Award was another honor. It wouldn't have been possible if not for my clients. I always think of them first. I do my job because I love to do it and not because I expect to receive any gifts or an award. To me the award is just as special as receiving a smiley face from a client, showing their appreciation.
