Ipod Donations Needed to Benefit Elderly
February 14, 2012
Dan Cohen of Music & Memories in Mineola, NY is collecting used and unwanted iPods to benefit Alzheimer’s and related dementia patients.
Music & Memories specializes in providing seniors with iPods loaded with their favorite music. Exposure to individualized music is especially effective for those with Alzheimer’s and related dementia. Benefits include improved mood and reduced anxiety. The New York State Department of Health’s Electronic Dementia Guide for Excellence (EDGE) Project recommends use of individualized music by all long-term care facilities.
If you would like to donate an Ipod, or find out more information about Music & Memories, please visit http://www.musicandmemory.org/ or contact Dan Cohen at 917- 923-5636 or by email at dcohen@musicandmemory.org.
