Who is the Right at Home team?

Right at Home of Northern Colorado was founded by Scott Beethe in January 2007.   Being brought up in a small eastern Colorado community where his father was the country physician for 40 years, Scott valued the difference that caring could bring to the overall well being of individuals and the community.  It has guided his professional choices over the years.  He has over 25 years of health care management experience working with medical groups and health care networks in Colorado and Arizona.   With a Masters in Health Administration and his past experience in health care service and  human resource management , he was excited to start Right at Home here in Northern Colorado to help seniors stay in wherever they called home.     His committment to his community is an important facet of his life as he believes in giving back.  Currently, he is the Chairman of the Board for Elderhaus Adult Day Programs, Vice-President of the Foundation on Aging, Co-chairman of the annual Senior Law Day Committee of Elder Care Network, and Past Chair of Elder Care Network.

Scott's wife, Jeanne, joined the office on a full time basis in June 2009 as the Clinical and Operations Director for Right at Home.  Her background as a registered nurse working in multiple settings including home care has been invaluable to the training and supervision of our caregiver team.  She brings a major difference to our non-medical home care agency by training caregivers to not only perform personal care appropriately but to watch for changing conditions in our clients.  Her presence allows Right at Home, many times, to  keep families informed of changes so that they can intervene early before a health problem develops.

Right at Home has a terrific team behind the scenes which communicates and works with our clients, caregivers, and those looking for care.  Their roles are intertwined to make sure our customer service is excellent.  They were selected to work for us because of not only their office skills but also their compassion for providing the level of care we deliver.

Lisa Loehr is our Director of Community Relations.  She works with the senior services community to provide them with information about how we can best help their clients and residents.  She also facilitates the Virtual Dementia Tour training program that we conduct regularly throughout the community to sensitize family and professional caregivers about the experience of having dementia and allowing them to be the best caregivers they can.

Erin Peters is the office manager.  She not only manages payroll, billing, and human resource but also manages the rest of our internal team.  Erin is also our adventurous soul and hikes in some pretty amazing places.

AJ Cheesman is often the voice that our clients and caregivers hear when she works her magic of matching clients and caregivers and setting up schedules.  Although not germane to home care, AJ also is a our resident fish expert because she worked at a local market purchasing all of the fish.  We constantly pump her for information.

Jennifer Van Ort is our newest team member as she supports and backs up both AJ and Erin in their primary functions.  Her attention to communication skills, attention to detail and efficiency is a blessing to us all.  She is also our resident actress and performs in local playhouses.

We are  extremely fortunate and proud to have a team of caregivers who have the skills, passion and heart needed to take care of a population of seniors who must count on others to live independantly.  As we recruit, screen, and train, we select only those that we believe will live up to the Right at Home standards.  We constantly get positive and heart warming comments from our clients about our caregivers.

Our difference is the level of quality that we have in our caregiver and administrative team.  This allows Right at Home to provide the compassionate and skilled care that Scott and Jeanne would want to provide to their own parents.

My first client was 89-years-old, and I ended up staying with her 24/7 until she passed away at the age of 92. I used to read the Bible to her, and we sang songs together because she used to be a choir director at her church. She wanted me to sing her favorite song – 'The Old Rugged Cross' – at her funeral. I did. I was with her when she took her last breath. It was such a sacred moment. I’ll never forget it. It just cemented this whole career for me and made me realize this was what I wanted to do.
