Fall Prevention
June 24, 2010
Right at Home of Falls Church has recently become a member of the Northern Virginia Fall Prevention Coalition. The NVFPC began a year ago in Loudoun County and has now started a group in Fairfax County. NVFPC was set up to improve the lives of Senior Citizens by educating the public in fall prevention, using a comprehensive program developed by the centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This organization is made up of representatives from the local medical community, government agencies, the business community and other non-profit organizations. Included among these organizations are pharmacies, physical therapy offices, home care agencies, vision care centers, home retro-fitting companies, hospices and care managers. As a member of this organization we are helping to development seminars for seniors on fall prevention and booklets that will be available in hospitals and medical facilities. These booklets will provide information for seniors on providers in Fairfax County that are available to them for the types of service they require. Right at Home of Falls Church, has been providing in-home care and assistance to seniors and disabled persons since 2002. Our home care services are flexible for your needs. We can provide care for as little as a few hours a day up to 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
