• My mom and I come down to Palm Desert to stay for a few months each year, and at 89 years old she needed some extra help this trip. • To Whom it May Concern,

  The agency Right at Home, headed by Dan and Elaine Fox, has given us superb service and caring in a time of true crisis in our lives.

  My brother Phillip had a major stroke at age 63 and since none of our family lives on the West Coast to care for him, we hired Right at Home. We have had repeated medical and social emergencies which needed to be urgently addressed in a timely fashion.  Dan and Elaine, and their excellent staff, would personally go to Phillip’s home and take care of each situation. They kept us well apprised of Phil’s progress and of the difficult emotional issues related to each crisis. Since I am a surgeon myself, and serve as Phillip’s medical consultant, this was extremely important to me. I cannot be there on a regular basis and must depend on the integrity and good judgment of this team. They have done all the things I would do myself were I there.  I cannot rave enough about their fine services.

  Phillip has had round the clock care provided by Right At Home, along with outside therapists. These services have been carefully monitored and managed by the agency. When an issue arises, they immediately call me or my wife to see what our preference in care would be.

  The expert personnel coordinates the appointments with his various medical specialists, personally transports him to the doctors’ offices, and immediately reports back the findings to me. It has been remarkable!

  Their willingness to be flexible in their choice of home care aides has been a true asset in this delicate situation. They have accommodated the personality of the caregiver to my brother’s difficult emotional temperament and constantly changing needs. This flexibility has allowed us to have peace of mind from 3000 miles away. Thank goodness we hired Right at Home; they are the Right group!

  I would highly recommend Right at Home as a top notch and extremely professional agency to handle any medical cases which could arise. Not only do they provide intelligent expertise in their field, but they bring a sense of caring, sensitivity and warmth to a most challenging family issue.

• I wanted to thank Right at Home for helping take care of my grandmother after she fell and broke her toe.  She had a care taker named Myrial who was absolutely wonderful and took great care of my grandmother during a time where she could not care for herself.

  I would like to express my thanks to you for the excellent care your staff provided, and for the genuine caring that you both provided for my father in the past year.

   

  Although you know how much he appreciated you and your staff, I want you to know that his close friends and family were so very pleased with the services you provided.  Not only did you improve the quality of his final year, you also made this year much better for the rest of us.   As my father's condition progressed, you made sure that your staff was appropriate for his changing needs.  You treated him as if he were your own father.  You were always monitoring his feelings, and responding however necessary to maintain the best chemistry with his caretakers. Seeing how concerned you were with his happiness and comfort, and how quickly you reacted to improve any problems, greatly relieved the burden on us.  The trust I had from watching you in control of his best interests improved the quality of my life this past year.

  On behalf of my husband and I, we wish to express our profound and sincere appreciation for your kindness and service to us in assisting our dear friend Noel in his final days. When the doctor abruptly told us we had to take him home from the hospital on less than 24 hours notice, we were distraught to say the least. However, we were also determined to make sure that he went to his own home as had been his wish for many years.

  We are very thankful that one of the members of the Hospice staff of the Visiting Nurses Association told us about you. We had other agencies who we could call, but once we spoke over the phone and you came to meet with us in our home, we felt confident we could not find a better "fit".

  Your professional and respectful manner at all times was likewise appreciated. It was very comforting to know that one of you would personally be there to introduce any new person coming to care for him to both the patient and any other friends or family who might be at his home at the time.  The persons you sent to care for him were superb, and made it much more comfortable for us as well. In short, we knew he was in good hands and everyone helped to prepare us for what turned out to be such a brief period of time before he left us. We could see that he was at peace with each person who cared for him.

  Once again, we want to commend you and your staff for your wonderful care of Virginia during her final illness. The reliability and punctuality of the caretakers was outstanding.  Our family has worked with several home health care companies in the Coachella Valley, and your service has been the best. The caretakers were correct and accurate in following the doctor's many and changing orders and the family's numerous special requests, and so patient with our dying mother during her period of dementia.  It was hard work, physically and emotionally, and we surely appreciate it.  We realize she was a very difficult patient, and her outbursts and impulses were handled with great care.

  We wish to especially commend caretaker Kayla. Her intelligence and patience were remarkable. She was so often in charge when Mom was extremely anxious and belligerent, and she handled those days with unfailing kindness and calm.  Thank you.

• Dear Dan and Elaine,

  What a journey this has been!   Frank is doing so well that, at this point we no longer need your services! Tamara is just exceptional. She was always thinking of what was best for Frank and his recovery. She created without prompting a self-styled "heating pillow" that could be heated in the microwave and would relax his neck muscles so that he could sleep.  She was sensitive to his feelings concerning his inability to be independent. She was helpful but without being enabling to him so that he made a very strong recovery. Tamara was also very astute concerning instruction from the Physical Therapist. The therapist was very impressed with her focus in learning the exercises in order that she help him with them each day.

  On the weekends we had Teresa to bath/shower Frank and to help him with dressing and all that this entails. By having Teresa, I was able to get some decent sleep on the weekends knowing that Frank's care could continue as during the week without interruption. Both Tamara and Teresa took Frank on long walks each day to increase his stamina. They listened to what his needs were and allowed him to feel heard and in as much control of his life as possible.  Even Jennifer, your wonderful staffing coordinator,  jumped in to help care for Frank when there was an emergency! Thank you, thank you, thank you all!!  Could not have survived this time without you all.
