A4AA is one of six area agencies on aging designated by the State in 1973 to administer the Older Americans Act fro Older Californians residing in our seven-county area.
A4AA develops, coordinates, funds and monitors services the help persons 60+ years of age and older maintain their health and independence. A4AA help government and community based organizations implement successful programs.
Governed by a 17-member board comprised of members of the Boards of Supervisors or their appointees from the seven-county area - Monthly meetings are open to the public.
A4AA has a 35-member Advisory Council, which also meets monthly and serves as the principal advocate body for programs and services for older persons.
