Caregiving Matchmaking Service

"This is the next logical step in providing exceptional one-on-one caregiving in the home environment," decreed Steven Lowrey, Sales and Marketing Director with Right at Home, which provides in home care throughout the Sacramento and Yolo region. "After meeting with many families and our clients themselves over the past years - I discovered that it is their participation in the selection process of their caregiver that truly matters and makes a huge difference overall."
Right at Home, with over 100+ selected, trained, and experienced qualified caregivers on their care team, provides each client the opportunity to hand select their own caregiver based on the Right at Home "matchmaking" process.
"It is not always about matching a caregiver's background, work experience, or specific care training to the specific client," explained Lowrey, "It is oft times personality, acumen, or even a hobby or interest of the caregiver that may be a better match."
Each Right at Home caregiver is fully screened and tested before hiring. After hire, they undergo an orientation and at that time complete a complete biography, including work experience and personal information. Once completed, each caregiver's complete biography is created - including an accompanying photograph of them - for review of each client or their family.
"It really benefits all parties involved," reasoned Lowrey, "From the caregiver perspective - they are no longer a 'stranger' coming into someone's home. They feel particularly special, as the client or their family were involved with their selection."
He continued, "From the client's perspective - they have the opportunity to participate and be completely involved with the selection of a caregiver or caregivers, and appreciate having that availability afforded to them. It is very much a matchmaking process, but more importantly, it personalizes the process."
After assessing each client, Right at Home's care team works diligently together, creating a list of candidates from their team of caregivers and then are able to provide the client with their potential "matched" candidate(s).
"We can either email the family an attachment of our matched candidates and their caregiver biographies, or even hand deliver the hard copy and printout to the hospital, skilled nursing facility, or home of our client," said Lowrey.
"In the past we've offered interviews of our caregivers, but this was ultimately time consuming and quite an arduous process. The "matchmaking" we now have saves everyone time, and the client the very difficult process of interviewing and selection. It also lessens their anxiety in not knowing exactly what or who to expect when they are discharged home."
A caregiver was recently selected from her biography because amazingly enough, she was raised in the same small rural town in Alabama that the Right at Home client came from.
"We've had caregivers selected for a number of reasons based on our "matchmaking" process," remarked Lowrey, "We've had clients select caregivers based on their skill set or specific training in providing care - but we've also had caregivers selected because of a particular hobby they enjoyed or one caregiver whose favorite dish to prepare was meat loaf, potatoes, and fresh vegetables."
"When I asked the client, "Why did you select that particular caregiver?"
The client replied, ?"It's been years since i've had a good meat loaf!"
