Eldercare is a Growing Issue and We May be in Denial

April 23, 2011

It appears that eldercare is more than just an issue in the United States.  It's also a huge issue in Canada and likely other parts of the world.  Senior care and elder care will significantly change over the next five years.  It will likely look nothing like it does today.  Right at Home Senior Care of Louisville, KY and South Central Indiana is positioned to be at the forefront, leading this unprecented paradigm shift - instead of following wherever the trail leads.  We are working on several initiatives and community partnerships which will allow us to serve them even better in the future.

Watch for announcements on our blogs, on television, and in print.  We'd be honored to serve you, and/or your loved one, now or in the future.  Right at Home is, and will be in the future, the best choice for homecare and assistance for aging adults, seniors and the elderly.

In the meantime, here is an interesting article from Canada:

Senator Sharon Carstairs has had it. Over the past 16 years, there has been no fiercer a Canadian advocate of better care for the elderly. She has spearheaded two ground-breaking Senate reports on aging, and remains in demand as a speaker, preaching the need for action.

Yet even now, with the first baby boomers turning 65 this year, almost nothing is being done to prepare for the demographic bulge of seniors. There is no comprehensive plan, no national program, not even a firm commitment to deal with frail elders already trapped in the system, many of whom are doomed to spend their final days in misery.
