Companion/Homemaking
Gloria has lived in the same home for more than 50 years. She and her husband bought it as newlyweds. The couple raised three children in the house. But when Gloria's husband suddenly passed away, her family became concerned about her well being. No one wanted to see Gloria live anywhere else. Ava, their youngest daughter, was worried enough about her mother's safety and well being that she discussed the situation with her siblings. The children decided to contact Right at Home.
Beth, a Right at Home caregiver, visits with Gloria several days a week to make sure she is safe and content. Gloria loves talking to Beth about her seven grandchildren. Beth often folds Gloria's laundry as she listens. And she frequently fixes Gloria's lunches before sitting down with her to play rummy and pinochle. Whenever Gloria wants to visit with friends or shop, Beth is always there to provide a ride and carry Gloria's groceries.
Right at Home provides numerous companionship/homemaking and wellness services to Gloria, including:
- Safety supervision
- Socialization
- Transportation
- Light housekeeping
- Grocery shopping
- Cooking
- Running errands
- Medication reminders

Right At Home has been such an amazing help to our parents and our entire family. Our mother at first was very reluctant to accept the fact that she needed outside help and only permitted us to start with someone 2 mornings per week. In just a few short months, my mother requested that Right at Home come three, then four, then five days per week, as our father's dementia worsened. Our parents and our entire family grew to trust and love this caregiver, who has become an indispensable companion working tirelessly to provide a high level of in-home care. She is ALWAYS punctual, runs errands, brings our parents to appointments if we can't, keeps the house neat and clean, cooks wonderful and healthy meals, keeps our father on a consistent schedule, and most importantly, shows compassion, companionship and conversation, taking an interest in our parents' lives and their happiness and overall well-being.
