If you'd like us to help you navigate through this process, give us a cll at (913) 338-1919. It is important that your loved one qualifies for the correct dates of what the VA considers "wartime." Your loved one must have been honorably discharged, and must have served 90 consecutive days of active duty, including at least one day in one of the following date ranges: Official Dates for Periods of War World War II: December 7, 1941 - December 31, 1946 Korean War: June 27, 1950 - January 31, 1955 Vietnam War: August 5, 1964 - May 7, 1975 Persian Gulf War: August 2, 1990 to [date not yet determined] Make sure you have your loved one's discharge papers. Check the dates of service. Do those dates fall within the wartime dates listed? Does the discharge show that your loved one was honorably discharged? If you are not sure, contact a Veterans Service Organization, or give us a call.
