Patty Hietpas - Owner

Right at Home Appleton Owner Patty Hietpas

Our Mission: Improving quality of life through trusted, reliable and responsive in-home care and assistance, to allow people to live better in their own homes, with help. My mission for our TEAM is to support and guide our staff to provide not only the necessary needs for an individual, but to find ways to help our clients THRIVE well, meeting many higher-level needs.

It is through Team Building, Dream Building, Education, Collaboration and Action that each individual that works for Right at Home is encouraged to succeed and accomplish more than they ever thought they could. Each individual is continually reminded that everything we do revolves around our end goal of the very best in Person-Centered Care.

I was always very close to my grandparents. From helping to provide respite care for my Grandmother who was dying of lung cancer, to volunteering in the hospital, I always knew my purpose in life would revolve around providing care for others and doing the things that truly make a difference in someone's life. Certain personal family situations prompted deep understanding and action. This became a great goal on a larger scale. I also have experience and passion for education. Thus is our company mission, to support, teach, train and provide the best results possible to help others thrive well.

My other positions have given me experience to help drive the business and business passion. Putting to use my marketing background, along with the entrepreneur drive to make this happen, and God's guidance with dreams, passions and abilities, Right at Home continues to thrive and be one of the very best in the area.

I am a wife and a mother of 3 adult children, all guys, and we have a golden retriever as well. I love being active, biking, hiking, yoga – for fun and fitness. I am a bit of a “foodie” – enjoying many tastes in food, especially Mediterranean, Italian. I also love learning, and love reading. I am a graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Madison, a Certified Health Specialist, a Doctor of Naturopathy, in the natural health field and have experience in education. Prevention is the best medicine to many things. And in other things, take care of the person, where they are at, as every person means a great deal in life.

Shelby - Operations Manager

Right at Home Appleton Team Shelby

Hello, My name is Shelby Tennessen and I am the Operations Manager with Right at Home.

I have worked in Senior Care basically all my life. As a child, my mom managed a group home for seniors. Our apartment was attached to the group home, where shared meals, family time and holidays with the residents. I also spent most of my summers on my grandparent’s farm, where some of my best memories were formed. As a child, my mom referred to me as an “old soul” as I gravitated towards being with people older than myself rather than children my own age. She would always find me lingering in the house to be with her and other adults, rather than outside with the neighborhood kids.

I have worked as a CNA in nursing homes, home care and hospice as well as assisted living facilities, in addition to being an aide for Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy. I have held a wide range of positions in Home Care Agencies and I thoroughly enjoy all aspects of helping senior remain in their home. I have several years of leadership and management experience is various settings. It is my passion to care for seniors and assist others in doing so as well.

Caring for our elderly, frail, or disabled folks, is an honor and am I am excited to share it with you. As Operations Manager, I assist in all aspects of the day to day business of Right at Home. I am also the front-line person for caregiver training such as dementia and hospice training as well as new hire onboarding. Most importantly, I work with our team to ensure the ultimate in caregiver and client satisfaction. For all of us at Right at Home, it is not only what we do, but ensuring we deliver service and provide employment with the highest level of compassion and professionalism possible.

Please feel free to reach out to me anytime!

Thank You,

Allison - Scheduling Coordinator

Right at Home Appleton Team Allison

Hello Everyone! My name is Allison VandenHogen and I am the Scheduling Coordinator for Right at Home Appleton where we provide in-home care and assistance to seniors and disabled adults. I started with Right at Home in 2015 and it has been a fun adventure since! I manage all client schedules whether it is reoccurring shifts or week to week appointments. I strive to find the perfect match between client and caregiver. I have direct contact with Clients after they get on board with us and enjoy communicating with them the needs that we can help provide care for.

After graduating from Little Chute High School I went on to study Health Information at Fox Valley Technical College where I received my Associated Degree. Prior to working for Right at Home I worked at St. Elizabeths Hospital in the Registration department. I got married shortly before I started working with Right at Home. And one year after working here had my first baby, Will!

I first got the passion for working with in home care when my Grandmother was sick and needed twenty-four hour assistance where myself and other grandchildren helped to take care of her. It was truly a blessing and great memories to be able to spend that much one on one time with her. I have learned so much about the quality of life and how important it is to provide the best care possible for our clients.

Sara, CNA - Care Manager

Right at Home Appleton Team Sara

Hello! My name is Sara. I am one of the Care Manager’s for Right at Home, Appleton. I have been with Right at Home for going on 3 years. I have been a CNA for 15 years and my passion is working with others. Recently, I have moved to the role of Care Manager and it has widened my horizons of enjoyment. Besides working in the office, I get to visit our clients at their home and meet with them and/or family to make sure all their needs are being met, if they have any questions or concerns. I get to see our caregivers work in action and, check in to see if they need additional training or have any questions or concerns, and making sure our clients and caregivers are the right match. I assist with care assessments as well as some marketing. My goal is to continue to have our clients stay in their home or home like setting, be happy and stay safe.

A little about myself. I started in health care out of the whim. I knew I wanted to work with others, so I applied to an Assisted Living and fell in love and found my passion. I got my CNA and was very content. For about 5 years I got out of healthcare and worked in an office setting, until my step mom got sick and was put on Hospice at home. My dad told me that I needed to get out of the office and work with my passion in healthcare as he seen where my heart was and how well I was taking care of her and helping the family cope. So eventually I did go back into healthcare. My dad was on Hospice for such a short time almost 2 years ago and still to this day I am very happy to be in health care working my passion. Home health is very rewarding, as you get to spend more quality time with the client as they are at home, they are comfortable, and I also know I am there to help maintain them to be at home. I feel rewarded every time I work with a client either in the field or as a Care Manager. Someday my goal is to be a Hospice RN. People will ask you how can you watch people pass away and my thinking is.. I am blessed that they feel comfortable enough to pass away when I am there, I am glad I can help be that guiding light or guardian angel to the client and the family. It is such a hard time and going through it myself, I wanted them to know they are not alone.

Tanya, LPN - Care Manager

Right at Home Appleton Team Tanya

Hello everyone! My name is Tanya Clark and I am the Care Manager for Right At Home. Right At Home provides in home care and assistance to seniors and disabled adults. Before starting with Right At Home in February of 2018, I worked at a Residential Living Facility as the Admissions Coordinator and Clinical Care Coordinator for 9 years. I witnessed how important it was for potential residents to be able to stay at home and receive the care that they need. I decided I wanted to be a part of a team that could make this happen. I meet with potential clients to provide information on our services, initiate and adjust client care plans, communicate with clients and families regarding changes and concerns, train and educate the care staff team, perform office tasks and marketing tasks. I have always told myself that I would not have a job that I do not love to go to everyday. I feel very fulfilled knowing that I am making a difference in someone’s life. Our clients able to stay at home and their families are able to have that peace of mind knowing that their loved one is safe and happy.

I have been a Licensed Practical Nurse for 9 years. I have always had a sincere passion for helping others and improving their quality of life. I love bringing out the best in people, if it just means making them laugh or just lending an ear.

I choose to live life to the fullest. I dream big and want to give every adventure a chance. I am a mother of two wonderful girls. They mean the world to me and they notice my passion towards helping others. They both want to be nurses when they grow up!

When our trained caregivers help with quality of life, it's not uncommon to see that the entire family feels the results of our care.

She has notices that Philip has become more verbal, social and outgoing since we have been there- he even went out for a haircut, said that they cant thank us enough for everything we have done for Philip and their family. Since his house is kept clean now, his mom visits more often, and everyone sleeps better at night.
