Meet the Right at Home Appleton Team
Patty Hietpas - Owner
Our Mission: Improving quality of life through trusted, reliable and responsive in-home care and assistance, to allow people to live better in their own homes, with help. My mission for our TEAM is to support and guide our staff to provide not only the necessary needs for an individual, but to find ways to help our clients THRIVE well, meeting many higher-level needs.
It is through Team Building, Dream Building, Education, Collaboration and Action that each individual that works for Right at Home is encouraged to succeed and accomplish more than they ever thought they could. Each individual is continually reminded that everything we do revolves around our end goal of the very best in Person-Centered Care.
Many professional referral sources: Care Patrol, Ikor Care Management, many of the rehabs (St. Paul, Peabody, Oakridge Rehab, Woodside, Rennes), as well as nice assisted livings, (Aspire Assisted and Independent, Primrose Assisted and Independent, Bellevue Assisted and Independent, as well as PRN Home Healthcare (skilled) and Heartland Home Health and Hospice, Theda Hospice, Ascension Hospice, Unity Hospice) for one on one care in this area know what a “tight ship” we have for care expectations, of ourselves, which converts to care for our clients - Our staff all believe as well that this business is personal to them, and that we cannot fail any one person in any thing.
I have been on the Board of Nursing Review at Fox Valley Technical College since 2015, advocating and informing about what is needed in the industry, along with many others in the hospitals, rehabs, and home health care organizations. We’ve also made some great connections with the Medical College of Wisconsin, as they’d like to refer their students to work in this field, gaining invaluable experience, as they move toward a medical degree.
I was always very close to my grandparents. From helping to provide respite care for my Grandmother who was dying of lung cancer, to volunteering in the hospital, I always knew my purpose in life would revolve around providing care for others and doing the things that truly make a difference in someone's life. Certain personal family situations prompted deep understanding and action. This became a great goal on a larger scale. I also have experience and passion for education. Thus is our company mission, to support, teach, train and provide the best results possible to help others thrive well.
My other positions have given me experience to help drive the business and business passion. Putting to use my marketing background, along with the entrepreneur drive to make this happen, and God's guidance with dreams, passions and abilities, Right at Home continues to thrive and be one of the very best in the area.
I am a wife and a mother of 3 adult children, all guys, and we have a golden retriever as well. I love being active, biking, hiking, yoga – for fun and fitness. I am a bit of a “foodie” – enjoying many tastes in food, especially Mediterranean, Italian. I also love learning, and love reading. I am a Certified Health Specialist, as well as Cert. Doctor of Naturopathy, in the natural health field. Prevention is the best medicine to many things. And in other things, take care of the person, where they are at, as every person means a great deal in life.
Tref Hietpas - Owner
Patty and I have lived in Northeast Wisconsin for most of our lives and have three sons. We are both graduates of University of Wisconsin-Madison, and bring business and personal experience to effectively operate the local Right At Home franchise office. Patty has a degree in Communications, as well as a diverse array of experiences in marketing and sales, followed by service in public education. I add 30 plus years of operations management experience in the logistics & distribution industry ~ managing multiple facilities with a focus on customer service, quality assurance, project management, and continuous improvement initiatives. As owners of a Right at Home franchise serving Appleton, Green Bay and the Fox Cities, we are committed to delivering quality care and assistance to those we serve.
Our greatest inspiration in opening a local Right At Home franchise is a desire to give back to the community while making a difference in the lives of the people we serve. With the aging baby boom population and an increasing need for long term care, people need caregivers who are passionate about what they do and well trained and supervised.
We are excited and grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the families of our community in such an important way. We are committed to delivering the highest quality experience, and one that best fits the individual needs of each person we serve. We look forward to working with, supporting your activities of daily living, and being a resource you can trust.
Katie - Operations Coordinator
I want to be able influence healthcare by supporting the caregivers who provide our clients with great service.
Allison - Scheduling Coordinator
Hello Everyone! My name is Allison VandenHogen and I am the Scheduling Coordinator for Right at Home Appleton where we provide in-home care and assistance to seniors and disabled adults. I started with Right at Home in 2015 and it has been a fun adventure since! I manage all client schedules whether it is reoccurring shifts or week to week appointments. I strive to find the perfect match between client and caregiver. I have direct contact with Clients after they get on board with us and enjoy communicating with them the needs that we can help provide care for.
After graduating from Little Chute High School I went on to study Health Information at Fox Valley Technical College where I received my Associated Degree. Prior to working for Right at Home I worked at St. Elizabeths Hospital in the Registration department. I got married shortly before I started working with Right at Home. And one year after working here had my first baby, Will!
I first got the passion for working with in home care when my Grandmother was sick and needed twenty-four hour assistance where myself and other grandchildren helped to take care of her. It was truly a blessing and great memories to be able to spend that much one on one time with her. I have learned so much about the quality of life and how important it is to provide the best care possible for our clients.
Sara, CNA - Care Manager
Hello! My name is Sara. I am one of the Care Manager’s for Right at Home, Appleton. I have been with Right at Home for going on 3 years. I have been a CNA for 15 years and my passion is working with others. Recently, I have moved to the role of Care Manager and it has widened my horizons of enjoyment. Besides working in the office, I get to visit our clients at their home and meet with them and/or family to make sure all their needs are being met, if they have any questions or concerns. I get to see our caregivers work in action and, check in to see if they need additional training or have any questions or concerns, and making sure our clients and caregivers are the right match. I assist with care assessments as well as some marketing. My goal is to continue to have our clients stay in their home or home like setting, be happy and stay safe.
A little about myself. I started in health care out of the whim. I knew I wanted to work with others, so I applied to an Assisted Living and fell in love and found my passion. I got my CNA and was very content. For about 5 years I got out of healthcare and worked in an office setting, until my step mom got sick and was put on Hospice at home. My dad told me that I needed to get out of the office and work with my passion in healthcare as he seen where my heart was and how well I was taking care of her and helping the family cope. So eventually I did go back into healthcare. My dad was on Hospice for such a short time almost 2 years ago and still to this day I am very happy to be in health care working my passion. Home health is very rewarding, as you get to spend more quality time with the client as they are at home, they are comfortable, and I also know I am there to help maintain them to be at home. I feel rewarded every time I work with a client either in the field or as a Care Manager. Someday my goal is to be a Hospice RN. People will ask you how can you watch people pass away and my thinking is.. I am blessed that they feel comfortable enough to pass away when I am there, I am glad I can help be that guiding light or guardian angel to the client and the family. It is such a hard time and going through it myself, I wanted them to know they are not alone.

Jim Amo, RN
My interest in nursing peaked when my mother passed away from leukemia. I was so impressed with her hospice care I thought I could make a difference in peoples lives in a more impactful way than I had been doing. Hospice not only took care of my mother I was impressed with how they treated my whole family. I mentioned to my wife that I wish I had done something more fulfilling with my life. Her being a school teacher, she said it was never to late, so I found a job working nights and went to school during the day. I graduated when I was 40, and my life and career has been made better by all the lives I have touched and all the lives that have touched me.
Sandie - Lead Caregiver
It’s such a great feeling to know that my clients are happy and as healthy as they can be with my help.
When our trained caregivers help with quality of life, it's not uncommon to see that the entire family feels the results of our care.
At Right at Home Appleton our mission is to improve the quality of life for those we serve.
Natlie said that his walking has actually gotten better since we have been there, believes that it is largely due to the girls getting him up and having him move around when they are there. She has notices that Philip has become more verbal, social and outgoing since we have been there- he even went out for a haircut, said that they cant thank us enough for everything we have done for Philip and their family. Since his house is kept clean now, his mom visits more often, and everyone sleeps better at night.
