Meet the Right at Home Boston and Maine Co-Owners, Rosaleen Doherty and Jay Kenney

“As we chose our life path in our marriage, we knew we wanted to be close to our local community on the North Shore of Boston and have a vocation that really mattered in the bigger scheme of things. For all these years, we have had the honor of serving seniors and their families when they are in crisis. Nothing could be more important. Today, we are serving all the cities and towns going from Central Boston to the New Hampshire border. In 2022, we expanded to Portland and Kennebunk, Maine to serve Mainers and their families.  As our children grew up living the Right at Home life, Noah and Gabrielle learned what it means to help others and be a power of good in our community. Right at Home is the vehicle we utilize to do good for others. Now, over two decades later, Gabrielle Kenney has joined our family’s mission to keep seniors independent in their homes. After she graduated college, she decided her calling was to join us and help other families take care of their loved ones..” - Rosaleen

About our Home Care Agency & Mission

Jay Kenney, a Medford native, and Rosaleen Doherty, originally a New York native,  settled North of Boston in 1995 to start their married life. Both were business professionals heavily involved in the “dot-com” world of the 1990’s and lived to experience the real highs and lows of American business life during that time. In a moment of “what’s next” after the tragedy of 9/11, Jay and Rosaleen started to reassess what type of life they wanted together and for their young family. The values they wanted to live were close family, close community and service. The Kenney family has been operating Right at Home for over two decades.

A Family Business & Legacy

Rosaleen and Jay reside in Marblehead with their two dogs. Their children are grown and flown, but Gabrielle Kenney joined Right at Home in 2024 to work side by side with her parents after her graduation from Bentley University. Right at Home fulfills Rosaleen and Jay’s family dream of living a life where they serve their community and make real connections with people. Gabrielle will extend this legacy for years to come.
