Meet Ty, our Caregiver of the Month for July 2019!

What drew you to care giving?

I became a caregiver because I love to help people. Being a part of their every day life and hearing their stories are what keep me coming back every day. I love being their support, especially if circumstances make it so their family isn't around. Being told by them that I am like family makes my job worth it because they can tell that I really care.

What are 3 words to describe Right at Home?

Passionate, caring, and professional.

What advice would you give to a prospective Right at Home caregiver?

I would tell anyone that is thinking about applying with Right at Home that we are a team and we are here for our caregivers and clients. We like to have fun and work hard. The open communication with the office, other caregivers, clients, and their families is great. It allows us to provide the best care we can.

Caregiver of the Month Ty

Congratulations, Ty! Thank you!

Meet Aly, our Caregiver of the Month for June 2019!

What drew you to care giving?

I was drawn to caregiving because my mother has a chronic illness. When I was younger I was always looking for more ways to help her, I found a CNA course and that it where my passion and draw to caregiving really started.

what's the most rewarding experience you have had as a caregiver?

In one special instance, my client’s mother said that she was happy I was there for the family and that I made their experience of losing a family member easier, this was by far the most rewarding experience I have had, knowing my work put a family at ease and helped them cope with loss.

What gives you the greatest satisfaction at work?

The greatest satisfaction I get at work is when I can get a client to smile or laugh with me, especially if they are having a bad day, this lets me know that I am doing something to make their day brighter.

What do you do on your day off?

On my days off during the summer I love walking along the Gallatin river and taking in all the noises and beautiful sights. In the winter, I usually spend the day with my sister and we will go out for dinner together.

What advice do you have for a prospective Right at Home candidates?

I think the most important advice I can offer is to always go into a situation with a mindset to learn, if you are always working to learn new things about your clients and to learn new skills your job working at RAH will become a great tool to improve yourself and help others.

What are 3 words to describe Right at Home?

Community, diligence, compassion

What’s the greatest bit of advice a parent or mentor has given you?

My Dad has guided me with advice throughout my life, the greatest advice he has ever given me was when I was planning my education- He told me to never be afraid of failure because if you do, you will never truly succeed. It was the push I needed to cement my planning and start a new chapter in life.
