Right at Home and Atria Alzheimer's and Dementia Awareness @ Hudson Pointe at Riverdale Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in the Bronx
Today, the Right at Home offices of Bronx and Brooklyn represented by Enrie Morales and Walter Ochoa and Atria of Riverdale represented by Eric Leopold provided a Lunch and Learn continuing education training for Alzheimer's and Dementia awareness to the Administration and Senior Staff from the Hudson Pointe at Riverdale Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in the Bronx.
The attendees learned about statistics and general facts about Alzheimer’s, its effects in the brain as well as the altering behaviors that accompany this disease.
Two volunteers, including the Facility Administrator, also wore an equipment designed to make them feel what is like to feel Alzheimer's, giving them a firsthand glimpse of that disease.
By teaching that the right approach, emotional voice tone, body language and positive feedback can improve the care of their patients without the need of extra medications, Right at Home is glad to see this institution taking a step closer in understanding this disease and create a better environment for their patients with Dementia. We are looking forward to keep working with this fine institution in the months to come and provide more training and awareness of this disease.
