Areas We Serve
Right at Home is Proud to Provide In-home Care for seniors in Cedar Rapids.

Home Care services provided by Right at Home Cedar Rapids are a way to meet the needs of seniors and other adults whose capacity for self-care is limited because of a chronic illness; injury; physical, cognitive, or mental disability; or other health-related conditions. Our home care services assist people to improve or maintain an optimal level of physical functioning and quality of life.
Cedar Rapids is Where We Call Home
Right at Home Owner Stephanie Humphries is a Caregiver Support Group Facilitator with our local Alzheimer’s Association chapter. The support groups are designed to provide emotional, educational and social support for caregivers through regularly scheduled meetings. They help participants develop coping methods and encourage caregivers to maintain their personal, physical and emotional health, as well as to optimally care for the person with dementia.
As a facilitator, Stephanie helps the group perform at its best, allowing the group members to benefit from each other’s wisdom. Stephanie's personal ideas, beliefs or needs take a back seat to the needs of the group. Stephanie is there to help the communication within the support group flow smoothly, deal with potential conflict or disagreement within the group and ensure participants feel comfortable to decide how much they wish to share with others. Creating an environment conducive to learning and the overall support of caregivers is key.

She provides presentations on Home Safety, Personal Safety, Gadgets for Better Living, Falls Prevention, and Common Home Medical Equipment to groups of seniors in a variety locations and venues. Linn County Task Force on Aging
Stephanie Humphries, owner of Right at Home, is the vice-chair of the Linn County Task Force on Aging which acts as the eyes and ears of the Heritage Agency and brings concerns of the local community to its Advisory Council. The Heritage Area Agency on Aging has a Task Force comprised of community members and providers of services for seniors in each county that it serves in Eastern Iowa. Task Force members and their representatives on the Advisory Council help Heritage to make the most appropriate and valuable choices for use of resources and help focus the agency advocacy and planning activities where they are most needed for seniors. The Linn County Task Force meets monthly on the second Thursday at 10am at the office of Right at Home in Cedar Rapids.
Health Care Industry Sector Board
Stephanie Humphries, owner of Right at Home, is serving as the vice-chairperson of the Health Care Industry Sector Board for 2019-2020. She has actively participated on the board since 2017 and previously served as a subcommittee leader. This board is one of seven job industry-specific groups of professionals from area businesses, non-profit organizations, and schools who work to track and identify the workforce needs of Eastern Iowa. Monthly meetings are held at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, IA to discuss and formulate initiatives for educating students and members of the available workforce as to the employment opportunities in health care as well as the education and training required to obtain a job in this area.
Blood Pressure Checks at Legacy Manor

Right at Home provides in-home care and assistance to some of the residents of Legacy Manor, an independent-living apartment building for seniors in NE Cedar Rapids. The owner of Right at Home, Stephanie Humphries, provides free blood pressure screenings for the residents here on the first Wednesday of every month at 11am in the community room. Blood pressure is an important measure of health because if it runs high regularly you are at increased risk for a heart attack or stroke. Blood pressure also tends to creep up as we get older because our blood vessels become more stiff. High blood pressure really has no symptoms and is considered the “silent killer” so it is important to take the time to check it on a regular basis.

Stephanie Humphries, owner of Right at Home and physical therapist, conducts Compassionate Touch workshops at the Family Caregivers Center of Mercy in Cedar Rapids.
