Director of Nursing (Langhorne location)

Job Summary

The Director of Nursing participates as a member of the agency’s management team in planning, policy formation, and administrative decision making with attention to the operation of the agency. In summary, is responsible for overseeing client care, staff management, caregiver scheduling and hiring, quality improvement and special projects such as, but not limited to, JCAHO accreditation and ODP waiver that add value and promote growth of the agency.

Director of Nursing Essential Functions

  • Provide leadership and management to ensure the success of the agency
  • Implement agency policies and procedures
  • Ensures the agency is compliant with PA State regulations
  • Collaborates with team members to ensure the appropriate assignment of personnel to meet the specific need of an individual client
  • Oversees and/or provides orientation and in-service education for caregivers
  • Participates in Quality Improvement activities
  • Investigates problems, irregularities, policy violations, and other reportable events implementing the appropriate corrective action and follow-up
  • Maintains an ongoing liaison with clients, client families and agency employees
  • Ensures an adequate number of qualified personnel to meet the needs of the clients while avoiding overtime
  • Maintains proficiency with inside sales calls
  • Performs in-home consultations with potential clients as needed
  • Maximize efficiency and cost effectiveness in daily activities
  • Assumes management role for care coordinators, hiring manager, RN’s and other ancillary staff
  • Participates as back-up manager on call
  • Participate in educational opportunities in health care

Director of Nursing Requirements

1. Valid PA State Licensure as a RN
2. Clean criminal background check
3. Minimum of 1-year homecare experience preferred, minimum 3 years management experience required
4. Proficient computer skills
5. Familiarity with JCAHO standards and policies
6. Reliable car, valid driver’s license and current auto insurance
7. Must have the ability to relate professionally and positively and work cooperatively with clients, caregivers and employees at all levels
8. Understands regulatory compliance with state and federal regulations
9. Adhere to HIPPA and maintain client confidentiality
10. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
11. Possess a high level of analytical ability
12. Detail oriented
13. Strong interpersonal skills
14. Strong oral and written skills
15. Ability to prioritize multiple demands with use of organizational and management skills
