Terri Fenno - The impetus for Right at Home of Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky

Terri Fenno was the original founder of the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky businesses. Hers is a story of learning the private duty business from a bedside perspective.

In 2001 Terri Fenno, having been diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer, began the battle to beat cancer that entailed a double mastectomy, chemo treatments, and reconstructive surgeries. It was “messy” trying to manage a household with two children under the age of 4, and an absent husband, Tony, who worked weekly in New Jersey and was only home on weekends. To help out, private duty care was hired, to initially assist Terri around the house post op, and then later as chemo treatments resulted in debilitating nausea.

It was during this period that Terri saw the HUGE value that just a LITTLE care brings to those that are incapacitated by age and/or illness.

Later in 2004 – with kids now in school – Terri possessed a strong desire to help others better their lives and was looking to put cancer in the rear-view mirror. It was then that she found Right at Home; the relationship that developed between the Fenno’s and Right at Home was essential for developing a quality home care company.

Terri worked diligently with families, referral sources and caregivers and grew Right at Home in both Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. The realization that people’s lives are being improved by Right at Home’s in-home care, is a focal point for the Fenno’s.

Tony is inspired every day by the individuals that Right at Home is privileged to serve. His desire to work with seniors to provide a better life for them has driven him to work with organizations like Disabled American Veterans, the Parkinson’s Support Group, the Alzheimer’s Association, the Association for the Professionals in Aging, and the Hyde Park Center for Older Adults.

Tony fosters what the future holds for Right at Home, given the time spent the in the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky community. With a positive culture instilled in RAH, Tony’s future vision for in home care is one centered around a professional caregiver team supported by a seasoned and mature office staff.

When Tony is not at Right at Home, you might find him working about the yard or traveling to interesting places.

Angel - Care Coordinator / DD Program Manager

I’ve worked for Right at Home for over 3 years and I have a 15 year career providing and managing care services to seniors and those with developmental disabilities. This is my passion, and I take it seriously. I feel blessed to have a great support infrastructure that includes my Right at Home team members, health professionals, and even my clients.

The reason I do what I do is because I want my clients to be treated just like everyone else, I want to be a voice when they can’t advocate for themselves, I want to make a difference in their life and help give them a better quality of life…

Having grown up in Cincinnati, I attended Princeton High School. After graduating, I attended Cincinnati State to study Cardiovascular Sonography. The interest of this came from the curiosity created by my grandfather’s stroke and paralysis.

Though my work at Right at Home occupies most of my waking hours, I keep my family a priority. Together we travel, cook, explore the outdoors - particularly anything on the water. And I cannot forget to say that I’m an avid Buckeye – The Ohio State University!
