Caregiver Spotlight

Malika Glenn

Malika Glenn has been employed with us for one month and right from the start she showed us all the values we look for in an outstanding caregiver -  love, compassion, patience as well as dedication. Ms. Glenn enjoys going out to eat and trying new restaurants and foods with her daughter. She also likes to read (series books). She has a love for basketball with the Lakers being the team she follows. She receives inspiration from her mom as she is in assisted living. Malika treats people the way she wants her own mother treated. The advice she would like to give to new caregivers is that with Right at Home what's discussed at the interview is true. She also states that one thing she learned is that communication with home care companies can really be great because it has been with our Rght at Home team. One of her favorite moments thus far has been working with two of our clients and also that she has not had a horrible experience with any home or family while being with us.

Ongoing Training and Education

When you become a Right at Home caregiver, you join a group of caring individuals whose goal is to help seniors and adults with disabilities live successfully in their homes. You are also associating yourself with one of the most reputable companies in-home care. We believe that our success is dependent upon your success. That’s why in the ever-changing world of care, it is our goal to keep you trained and properly informed. From onboarding to client matching to continued education, we want you to thrive in your career. Once a caregiver meets our strict selection criteria, it's just the beginning. First, all Right at Home caregivers are insured and bonded. Then, each caregiver goes through a comprehensive orientation process that ingrains our policies and procedures. Our CERT (Caregiver Education Retention and Training) program provides ongoing, specialized training that ensures that our caregivers understand the high standards of care expected by Right at Home. Each caregiver goes through CPR and First Aid paid training classes. Through Right at Home University – the educational arm of our CERT Program – caregivers are given training on issues that help them develop as better overall caregivers, as well as deal with very specific situations, including: Medication Reminders, Alzheimer's and Dementia, Osteoarthritis and Mobility Loss, Hypertension/Stroke Recovery, Diabetes, Heart Disease, and Cancer Recovery

Orientation and Caregiver‑to‑Client Matching
Once you become a Right at Home caregiver, you'll go through an orientation process to learn our policies and procedures. After that, you’ll be ready to start providing care. Every time you're matched with a new client, you'll receive an orientation on that client's Custom Care Plan and the specifics of their care.
