Holly listens and is attentive to her clients needs and assures they are met. Holly communicates and advocates, and most importantly during this process assures that her client feels in control. Caregiver of the Year 2018
There Are Many Reasons Barbara Was Chosen As Caregiver of the Year
Right at Home of Bucks and Montgomery County is pleased to recommend our caregiver Barbara Murray for caregiver of the year.
Barbara was born and raised in New York and started her young career as a model for A1 Fashions. Through the years, she would go on to work in customer service for the same company. It was through this employment that Barbara befriended two women. One was 100 years of age and the other 95 years of age. These women encouraged Barbara to put her gentle, kind and sensitive spirit to work providing care to seniors.
She Provides Care from the Heart
Barbara has been working for Right at Home for a little more than 3 years. The care provided by Barbara comes from her heart. She believes that learning who her clients are and their life story helps her establish trusting relationships. When providing such intimate personal care as required by her position, this trust and bond is imperative.
A client Barbara is working with currently best exemplifies this. The client needs around the clock care and the family has been through five different agencies and numerous caregivers trying to find a collection of caregivers her husband approves. He is very involved in her care and is a wonderful advocate for his wife. After a few caregivers that did not meet his standards, we sent Barbara when her scheduled became available. The clients husband has been raving about her ever since.
Her Genuine Kindness is Evident
Her genuine kindness is evident in the satisfaction from her clients and their families. “When Barbara comes in, the whole house changes! She is always smiling, friendly and always has positive things to say. Most importantly, she makes my mom feel good about herself. “While we at Right at Home can always teach tasks, we cannot teach kindness. Barbara possesses a skill set that exemplifies excellent care. She has said that knowing her clients are satisfied with her care and are happy makes her happy.
Excellent Care is in The Giving
Barbara believes that the secret to her excellent care is in the giving. Preserve a person’s values and dignity, and allow them to maintain their ability to still make decisions and you help a client’s quality of life. Barbara Murray is a fine example of the Right at Home Standard of Care!
Barbara Refers Quality Caregivers
Barbara has referred over ten of our current caregivers and many we have simply not found the right shift. When a Barbara Murray caregiver referral comes to the office we know they well qualified and anxious to work with Right at Home.
The case Barbara is currently on has caregivers from two different agencies working with the same client. The client’s husband claims that Barbara is the glue that keeps the whole situation working. She keeps the other caregivers up to date on changes in condition as well as making sure they are meeting and exceeding the clients and her husband’s expectations.
Barbara completes all of her educational requirements as soon as it is sent out. Our RN Kathy states “ Barbra is always asking me about caregiving issues specific to the client she is working with and shares the information with the other aids on the case.”
Caregiver of the Year 2017
There Are Many Reasons Robin Was Chosen As Caregiver of the Year
The reason we nominated Robin Catlett is because she goes above and beyond for her clients. She makes sure that the needs of the client and their family are met. She has picked up additional shifts and put her best effort to accommodate our needs as well as our client’s needs. She has an exceptional personality and an award winning attitude overall. I feel that she emulates the name of the company by making everyone she encounters feel “ Right at Home”
"Compassionate, Loving, Dependable"
Words cannot do justice to the approach that Robin takes to the role as caregiver. A few that have been expressed by the families she has worked with are compassionate, loving, patient, dependable, proactive, trustworthy, and genuine come to mind. These are the words shared with us by the clients and families that she has provided care for. Robin is committed to providing quality care for each and every one of her clients. She has the ability to form immediate, lasting relationships with her clients and families and it has been expressed over and over again how she has touched each and every one of the lives of the families for which she provides care.
Encouraging to Others
One particular client comes to mind that upon discharge from rehab the client came home non-ambulatory and needing a hoyer lift. The client was determined to gain strength and walk again. Robin saw that goal and was determined to help her client reach it as if it was her own. Within a few months of being home through their shared commitment to working the hours and the exercises specified for the case, a routine was established with physical therapy. Through determination and encouragement, the client was ambulating and now able to return to many of his former activities of normal function within his home.
Robin is Always Smiling
Robin always has a smile on her face, she has a way of brightening up a day with a kind or encouraging word and walks with a very positive attitude. It is a pleasure to work with Robin she is a wonderful representation of the Right at Home team! Robin represents the Right Caregiver with the Right Approach providing the Right Care with the Right mission in mind.
A Go Getter!
Whenever she has the opportunity to learn she takes full advantage of the opportunity. Whenever our RN, PT, OT Home Health RNs or Hospice RNs show up at one of her cases she is always asking for advice on how to do thing better for client and enhance her skill set. She is also always eager to receive and complete our annual educations services. I wish I could have 100 Robins.
