Home Health Aide Service (HHA)
This program allows qualifying veterans to receive between 4 and 14 hours of hands-on personal hygiene care each week. Meal preparation, light homemaking, and companionship services are also provided as time permits. Visits are scheduled based on the needs of the veteran and are typically 2-3 hours long.
The respite program provides companionship and homemaking care to veterans when a family caregiver needs to be away for work, appointments, or personal rejuvenation. Veterans are typically allotted 30 days of respite care per calendar year (up to 6 hours per day).
Customized Care Plan
All veterans receive an initial in-home assessment performed by one of Right at Home’s Registered Nurses, and ongoing quality assurance and reassessment visits according to a schedule established by the VA.
Veterans are also visited frequently by Right at Home’s RightCare Manager to ensure the customized plan of care is being followed and that the assigned caregiver is a good match from both a skills and personality perspective.
In order to receive service under either the HHA or Respite programs, veterans require a VA physician or social worker referral for services. Right at Home also offers a discount to veterans who receive services on a private pay basis.
Please contact Right at Home if we can answer any questions or help you through the process of requesting VA home care services!
