Terri Fenno - The impetus for Right at Home of Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky
Terri Fenno was the original founder of the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky businesses. Hers is a story of learning the private duty business from a bedside perspective.
In 2001 Terri Fenno, having been diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer, began the battle to beat cancer that entailed a double mastectomy, chemo treatments, and reconstructive surgeries. It was “messy” trying to manage a household with two children under the age of 4, and an absent husband, Tony, who worked weekly in New Jersey and was only home on weekends. To help out, private duty care was hired, to initially assist Terri around the house post op, and then later as chemo treatments resulted in debilitating nausea.
It was during this period that Terri saw the HUGE value that just a LITTLE care brings to those that are incapacitated by age and/or illness.
Later in 2004 – with kids now in school – Terri possessed a strong desire to help others better their lives and was looking to put cancer in the rear-view mirror. It was then that she found Right at Home; the relationship that developed between the Fenno’s and Right at Home was essential for developing a quality home care company.
Terri worked diligently with families, referral sources and caregivers and grew Right at Home in both Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. The realization that people’s lives are being improved by Right at Home’s in-home care, is a focal point for the Fenno’s.
