Right at Home Newsletter — African Impact, Free Wheelchair Mission, Employee Corner
In 2004, a handful of well-traveled people sat around a table in he Zimbabwean wilderness. They all had backgrounds in tourism, development and conservation, and they wanted to do something meaningful and beneficial to the people who lived there. They wanted to do something different that really made a difference. They wanted to share with the world — The people. The wildlife. The magic. They soon opened their doors to international volunteers. At first it was a small, family-run organization with big dreams, but it didn't take long to find others who wanted to share the same experiences. People who wanted to travel while experiencing a country at its best, and worst. People who wanted to genuinely connect with the local people and to leave a place better than they found it.They continued to grow and opened new volunteer projects in new countries across southern Africa.
Right at Home Owner, Terri Fenno, is currently in Africa volunteering with this organization. Some of the activities Terri has been able to be a part of include: teaching/education, medical/health care, building and development, and even gender equality. See below for a few photos from Terri's trip.
