We were delighted to be a sponsor of "Alzheimer's Stories," a recent production of the Fresno Community Chorus Master Chorale. The concert, composed by Robert Cohen presents an emotional journey into an illness that effects millions of families.
As Cohen told The Fresno Bee, “Music is one of the last things to go in Alzheimer’s patients....They might not know their family, they might not know who or where they are, but in many cases if you sing them a song they can sing it back to you perfectly.”
We care for many Alzheimer's and dementia patients and we're passionate about raising awareness about the disease. The oratorio was a surprisingly uplifting work of art. It was heartfelt with a great deal of hope and humor. Cohen did a wonderful job telling the stories of people living with Alzheimer's and humanizing them.
