Our Care Staff
Scott Hill | Owner
My name is Scott Hill, I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Management, both from the University of Michigan, and leadership training from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University. I have senior management experience in the automotive industry, where I have worked for over 30 years combined in Ford Motor Company, the Visteon Corporation, and Nissan Motor Corporation. I have served as a “Junior Achievement” volunteer education consultant, where I taught High School Applied Economics. I have served for many years on the Christian Services Commission at my church, where I also serve as a lector, and a co-leader of a men’s group. I served as a volunteer at the Michigan Abilities Center, providing Equine Assisted Therapy dedicated to improving the physical and emotional well-being of children, adolescents, and adults who have physical, mental, emotional, or learning challenges.
I am a volunteer leader for The Hope Clinic organization which is a medical, food, and care provider at no cost for those in need. (Here is a description from their website: “At Hope Clinic we are committed to radical generosity and love. People often come to Hope struggling to gain access to the holistic care that they need. When they arrive at Hope, they are greeted with love, and treated with dignity. We help them to navigate the complex world of social services, and offer many of the comprehensive services they need directly on site.”) I have also enjoyed being a Special Olympics volunteer coach. My hobbies include playing, writing, and recording music.
I have been married for over 25 years to my wife Claudia, and together we’ve raised three beautiful children – our daughter Amelia who is 22 years old and recently graduated from Grand Valley State University, and our twin sons Elliott and Harrison who are now 20 years old and attending college.

Shannon Taylor | Director of Homecare
My name is Shannon Taylor and I am the current Director of Homecare for Right At Home. I have been in the business of caring for individuals since 1996 and is a passion of mine. I joined Right At Home in 2008 as a part-time On-Call Coordinator and quickly moved into a full-time Service Coordinator position. In 2010 I was promoted to the Care Coordination Manager and recently was made the Director of Homecare.
My current role as Director has been the most enjoyable for me since it allows me to make sure that each and every client receives great one on one care and that they are completely happy with our services. I look forward to working with you and your family!
Kathy Moore | Human Resource Generalist
My name is Kathy Moore. I am the Human Resource Generalist for Right At Home and enjoy recruiting, hiring and training caring compassionate caregivers to take great care of our many clients. I came from another non-medical home care agency in Ohio, where I also worked as their Human Resource Manager. My background includes over 20 years in the field of human resources. I have worked for county boards of developmental disabilities as well as in the non-medical home care field.
I found that I had a passion for helping others early in life when my father became ill and needed assistance on a daily basis. From this experience, I realized that I have a calling to assure that anyone in need of assistance is treated with respect, kindness and exceptional care. I believe in the mission and philosophy of Right At Home because they are committed to providing the best care for their clients.
In my spare time, I love spending time with my family. I also enjoy cooking, camping, kayaking and being outdoors whenever possible.
Sue Ford RN | Clinical Supervisor
My name is Sue Ford and I'm excited to be joining the Right At Home team as the RN Clinical Supervisor. Most of my nursing career has been spent working in the home care and hospice field where I’ve had the privilege of caring for people and families wherever they call home. I also spent several years volunteering with a camp for kids and young adults with physical disabilities.
It's so meaningful to be able to help people manage their health to the best of their ability and stay independent for as long as possible, and safe in their homes. I hope to use my skills to help our caregivers provide high quality services to all of our clients, and to maximize quality of life.
I enjoy spending time with my husband, two children, two dogs and striving to build healthy habits for myself and my family. I also like to spend free time sewing, crocheting and leading the hospitality team at my church.
Karman Tankersley | Service Coordinator
My name is Karman Tankersley and I have been with Right At Home since May 2011. I have been working in the Human Service field for over 23 years and have assisted a diverse population with their goal of remaining as independent as possible. My experiences include Adult Foster Care, Assisted Living Facilities, teaching within the Special Needs population, and In-Home Health Care. I attended Mott Community College and Spring Arbor University where I studied Management and Organizational Development, focusing on Social Services.
I believe “Right At Home” stands out from other In Home Health Care Agencies because we strive to do our best, hoping to exceed our client’s expectations. We provide services based on the Person Centered planning model, taking into consideration our clients needs and wishes. We take pride in making the difference, placing a caregiver not a staff person. We have a compassionate group of people working towards the same goal. Quality Care…
Samantha Nurmi | Service Coordinator
My name is Samantha Nurmi and I am one of the service coordinators with Right at Home. I have been working in the health care field for approximately 5 years. Prior to working with Right at Home I worked as a caregiver/ home health aide, mostly pertaining to memory care and hospice patients. Eventually I worked my way up to an assistant manager position in an assisted living and memory care facility. I am currently in the process of earning my Bachelor’s degree in psychology where I hope to one day specialize in geriatrics or neuro-psych. With my experience in the field I have grown to have a passion for taking care of the elderly. Every client I come in contact with I treat as if they were my family. I believe it takes a special kind of person to do the work of a caregiver and it feels great to be part of a team that makes sure that special person is found for every client. I am looking forward to working with Right at Home, along-side my wonderful co-workers, for many years to come.
Leslie MacDonald | Service Coordinator
My name is Leslie MacDonald I have been with Right At Home since April of 2015. I started out as the after-hours on call coordinator and have since been promoted to a full time service coordinator. I am responsible for coordinating care for our long term, auto insurance and private clients. I enjoy coming to work every day and making sure my client’s needs are met, not everyone has family close by that can check on them, so for some of our clients their caregiver from Right At Home is their family. I believe in Right At Home’s mission, to improve the life of those we serve; for most of our clients remaining in their home during their golden years is important, it’s where they feel the safest and are the most comfortable so it’s important to me that I understand my client’s needs.
To me Right At Home stands out from other home care agencies because not only do we care about our clients we also care about our caregivers. Our office staff works hard to make great matches when it comes to assigning caregivers to clients. Not only do we make sure they have the skill sets needed to care for their clients but we also make sure it’s a good personality fit for both the client and the caregiver. I look forward to growing with Right At Home as they grow, I get great satisfaction in making a difference in the everyday lives of our clients.
