Meshelle and David McKendry
Meshelle McKendry was born in Lubbock, Texas and David is a native to Colorado. They were both raised in the Rocky Mountain state and witnessed the determination and motivation of family’s owning their own businesses. With both their families’ backgrounds in business ownership, the two were excited to open a business of their own, that provides care for seniors and adults with disabilities. The parents of three are now almost empty nesters. David and Meshelle’s oldest son works as a decorative painter in the Valley, their daughter’s family lives in Minnesota, and their youngest son attends Colorado Mesa University. Proud to be a part of this community, David and Meshelle own a peach orchard in the Vinelands of Palisade and support building their community as good neighbors both personally and as business owners.
Jena Umaya was born and raised in Phoenix Arizona. In 2000 she moved to Grand Junction and knew this was where she was going to stay and raise her five children. For over 22 years Jena has enjoyed working in healthcare and is excited to have been given the opportunity to work as the Scheduling Manager at Right at Home Grand Junction. When Jena is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and loved ones, cooking, reading and is heavy into reality television.“We know our work is not smooth but we try our best to make the life a smooth journey for others.”
Care Coordinator – Mesa County
Heather is a Care Coordinator for Right at Home. She grew up in wonderful (windy) Wyoming where she began her healthcare career attending CNA and QMap schooling. When Heather moved to Colorado, she furthered her education attending RMA school and became a Resident Care Coordinator, training new CNA’s. During her 27 years as a healthcare professional, she has excelled in her career and continues to remain in a supervisory role coordinating care for our amazing clients. When Heather is not attending live concerts with her son and spouse, she volunteers for her community previously through the Lions Club, Alzheimer’s Association, Operation Interdependence, and Hospice. “There are only four kinds of people in the world — those that have been caregivers, those that are caregivers, those who will be caregivers, and those who will need caregivers.” — Rosalynn Carter
