Meet the Team
No matter where you make your home, we bring the care that’s right for you. Our dedicated local owners, professional team and caring, dedicated caregivers help improve your quality of life, allowing you to age gracefully and more independently. You can rest assured knowing you are receiving the care you need when you need it.
Richard Nelson and Paula Nelson - Owners
Richard and Paula opened Right at Home-Grand Rapids in January 2007. The idea of opening a home care business began with providing care to Paula’s dad. Like many families, Paula and her sisters lived out of state when their dad’s health began to fail. Managing care long distance was difficult. “If we could have had the services of Right at Home at that time Dad could have remained at home longer.”
Paula has a bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Correctional Administration from the University of Wisconsin and is a Certified Senior Advisor. Paula serves on the steering committee for the Caregiver Resources Network, and on the board of the West Michigan Therapy Dogs.
Richard has a bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Wisconsin. Richard serves on the board of the Council on Aging and is an active member of the Grand Rapids Lions Club.
