Scott Teresi - Owner
Marine Veteran Transitioned into Healthcare Industry
My name is Scott Teresi. I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps Reserve as a senior in high school in 1989. As a grandson of two US Marines, one who served in WWII and one who never returned from Korea, serving my country and my community was something I always knew I would do.
Veterans Care Assistance and Discounts in NY
After graduating from boot camp at Paris Island, I completed the Assault Amphibian Crewman Course at Camp Pendleton, CA in 1990. Returning from California, I enrolled as a freshman at the University of Florida. Following the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait that summer, I left school volunteering for active service and was attached to Combat Service Support Detachment 40, 1st Marine Expeditionary Brigade.
Upon returning to reserve status, I went back to the University of Florida where I received my Bachelors in Nutrition Science. I truly valued my military experience and opportunity to serve as a United States Marine. I learned a great deal about perseverance, commitment and leadership from some amazing mentors. I feel there is a special connection between those who serve in the military, no matter the branch of service. I finished my military service in 1995, but continued serving others as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) at Kindred Hospital Dallas through 1998.
Registered Dietitian with Two Patents for Healthcare Nutrition Products
After leaving the hospital, I then spent the next 16 years with Nestle Health Sciences working with many leaders in the world of healthcare nutrition. I had the opportunity to work on teams in the development of nutrition products designed to improve the quality of life of those with specific nutrition related needs. This work earned two US patents for innovative nutrition products and packaging.

The idea is to create a more sterile environment helping to reduce the risk of contamination and potentially decrease the risk of infection (US20120150140 A1, Patent date Issued Jun 14, 2012). - Medical Nutrition Tube Feeding Product
A tube feeding product for individuals who can’t eat by mouth. The formula is designed with nutritional compositions that may include an increased number and variety of fruits and vegetables, an increased variety of macronutrient sources and an increased amount of other components that are found in whole foods. The idea is to “whole foods” to increase the overall quality of the nutrition provided in a tube feeding formula (US20130209373 A1, Patent date Issued Aug 15, 2013).
In 2016, I became part of the Right at Home team and am proud to be a part of the mission to improve the quality of life for those we serve. Serving and making a difference in the lives of others is something my grandparents and parents passed on to us and it’s something I hope to pass on to my family.
Nutrition Assessments for Seniors in Hudson Valley
My wife Amy Mack and I are both clinical nutrition professionals. We believe that nutrition plays a critical role in the maintenance of health and recovery from illness. As we age, nutrition becomes even more important. Assuring clients are properly screened for nutrition related issues is key to developing the right care plan.
Having a registered dietitian on staff can make a real difference for at risk clients. In addition, my wife Amy will be a resource to our caregivers when it comes to developing the right nutrition plan for our clients. We provide nutrition and dietary evaluation for all our clients during the initial assessment, helping them to develop meal preparation strategies and showing them how to identify potential nutrition risks that may need to be brought to their healthcare providers’ attention.
Both my wife and I will also provide guidance to our aides and caregivers in the preparation of specialized therapeutic diets, including thickened liquids. Our caregivers receive three levels of caregiving training under the supervision of a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist on:
- Nutrition Risk and Screening
Identifying factors that may put vulnerable adults at for nutrition related issues - Nutrition Education
Helping vulnerable adults make better nutrition choices and encourage adequate intake of needed nutrients - Meal Preparation
Helping vulnerable adult improve their intake
I volunteer for the Alzheimer's Association Hudson Valley and am a trained caregiver support facilitator for the organization. The Alzheimer's Association Caregiver Support Group offers family caregivers a safe, supportive environment where they can freely share their feeling and challenges, exchange practical information, and connect with others.
