Veterans Aid & Attendance
As a Veteran, you made sacrifices for our country. You were there for us when we needed you, now let us be there for you. Many Veterans are unaware of the Veteran Aid & Attendance benefit. This benefit allows qualifying Veterans, and surviving spouses, the ability to receive up to $25,440 per year, to pay for home care.

Determining Eligibility
Working with Veterans Care Coordination, we are providing this four points of eligibility requirements as an overview for qualifying for the Aid & Attendance benefit. Please call our office at (845)-762-5557 for additional information.
- A veteran or surviving spouse of a veteran who served 90 consecutive days of active duty with one day during a period of war (the veteran did not have to serve in combat or overseas).
- Must have non-service related medical conditions, which require assistance with activities of daily living.
- Asset Ceiling Test
- Medical expense to income ratio – this is not based on your level of income, rather a ratio of medical expenses to income. Under the Veterans Aid & Attendance benefit, home care services qualify for medical expenses.
Paying for Home Care
The VA requires home care services to be in place before the Veteran can be reimbursed for this expense. Often, qualifying Veterans cannot afford the cost of home care up front. Working with Veterans Care Coordination, a respected national company helping Veterans age in place, we can offer home care services to Veterans who would be unable to pay for home care services during the VA’s processing and reimbursement period.
American Veterans Care Connection (AVCC)
Our office works with the American Veterans Care Connection (AVCC). This is a service that can help you understand veterans aid and assistance and how it can help fund the cost of non-medical home care services.
