Meet our Right at Home Team
Eric Hicks — President
I had worked in the Nursing Home industry for 12 years prior to opening my Right at Home Franchise. I decided to open this business for two reasons:
As a manager of market development for a nursing home chain I felt empathy for the families that could no longer provide the care that their family member needed for a multitude of reasons and were forced to send their loved one to a nursing facility. I thought that if I could build a team of caregivers that would allow these elderly people to stay at home longer that it would be better for the person needing care and the family that needed help.
Secondly, my stepmother had a stroke and after 30 days in a rehab facility she was told she would be discharged within the next two days. I made calls to several agencies and they told me that they did not do private pay business and focused on Medicaid only. Another agency told me that it would take two weeks to get her the care I requested. That made me realize this area needed an in-home care agency that focused on recruiting good caregivers and worked hard to ensure they were properly screened and trained.

Karen Williamson – Operations Manager
“Faith is being sure of what you hope for and certain of what you do not see” Hebrews 11:1
Karen joined RAH in June 2009, two months after the opening of the Ceredo office as their staffing coordinator. She now serves as Operations Manager overseeing all aspects of the business. Karen enjoys her job because she realizes that most elderly want to stay in their own homes and she takes great pride in giving them the option to do that by providing quality care for every client. Karen became a Certified Nurse Aide and began her Home Health Career working for a local skilled nursing agency. Karen grew up in Dunlow, WV on a dairy farm with her parents and 13 siblings. Karen graduated from Wayne High School in 1978 and has been married to her husband, Herman for 40 years. Together they raised two boys and have added two daughters in law and four grandchildren to their family. Karen’s faith in God is what grounds her. She and her husband still live in Dunlow and enjoy their grandchildren and extended family, often hosting many family gatherings which they love to do.
