Meet our Right at Home Team
Eric Hicks — President
I had worked in the Nursing Home industry for 12 years prior to opening my Right at Home Franchise. I decided to open this business for two reasons:
As a manager of market development for a nursing home chain I felt empathy for the families that could no longer provide the care that their family member needed for a multitude of reasons and were forced to send their loved one to a nursing facility. I thought that if I could build a team of caregivers that would allow these elderly people to stay at home longer that it would be better for the person needing care and the family that needed help.
Secondly, my stepmother had a stroke and after 30 days in a rehab facility she was told she would be discharged within the next two days. I made calls to several agencies and they told me that they did not do private pay business and focused on Medicaid only. Another agency told me that it would take two weeks to get her the care I requested. That made me realize this area needed an in-home care agency that focused on recruiting good caregivers and worked hard to ensure they were properly screened and trained.

Karen Williamson – Operations Manager
“Faith is being sure of what you hope for and certain of what you do not see” Hebrews 11:1
Karen joined RAH in June 2009, two months after the opening of the Ceredo office as their staffing coordinator. She now serves as Operations Manager overseeing all aspects of the business. Karen enjoys her job because she realizes that most elderly want to stay in their own homes and she takes great pride in giving them the option to do that by providing quality care for every client. Karen became a Certified Nurse Aide and began her Home Health Career working for a local skilled nursing agency. Karen grew up in Dunlow, WV on a dairy farm with her parents and 13 siblings. Karen graduated from Wayne High School in 1978 and has been married to her husband, Herman for 40 years. Together they raised two boys and have added two daughters in law and four grandchildren to their family. Karen’s faith in God is what grounds her. She and her husband still live in Dunlow and enjoy their grandchildren and extended family, often hosting many family gatherings which they love to do.
Hallie Traylor – RN Nurse Supervisor
“To Everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the Heaven” Hebrews 11:1
Hallie recently joined our staff as our new RN Nurse Supervisor. She has been an RN for over 28 years and has been married to her husband, Tom, for 46 years. Hallie is a Christian and she puts those values into everything she does – she loves people and loves taking care of everyone, especially our clients and our caregivers. Hallie started her health care career as a Nurse Aide for 6 years, then as an LPN for 2 years while working on her RN degree. Hallie dedicates some of her off time to her love of art and music. Hallie is an accomplished artist and songwriter and has been a member of the Nashville Songwriter’s Association. However, Hallie feels her greatest calling is to care for others, especially those that can no longer care for themselves.
Alisha Martin – Development Director and Scheduling Coordinator
Alisha joined Right at Home as an Administrative Assistant in 2014. Alisha loves her work at RAH because it means she is able to contribute to making a positive difference in people’s lives, especially those of the elderly in our communities. Alisha was born in Kentucky but raised in Huntington, WV. She is a graduate of Marshall University with a Bachelor of Science degree and is currently pursuing her Masters’ Degree. Alisha was married in November 2016; her husband Trevor is active military (thank you for your service Trevor) and they are both active members with the Huntington City Mission. Alisha and Trevor live in Huntington with their awesome dog Titus.
William “Justin” Bowen – Payroll and Billing Coordinator
JJustin joined Right at Home in September 2010 and handles most of the payroll and billing for our caregivers, case managers, and clients. Another part of his job is to make sure all of our client records are kept up to date and in order. Justin states that he likes all aspects of his job because it allows him to play to his strengths – he has great organizational skills and is focused on getting things done correctly. Some of that skill was honed by serving 4 years in the United States Navy (thanks for your service Justin). Justin was born in Paintsville, Kentucky, raised mostly in the Huntington area, and he currently lives in Ashland, Kentucky. Justin has attended Marshall University and loves to read, especially anything having to do with History and Philosophy. He is an active participant in the Alzheimer’s Association and participates each year in the Walk to End Alzheimers.
