Engaging Lafayette and Surrounding Areas!
Staying engaged with the community is essential to us. It allows us to stay up to date with the needs of those we serve as well as any developing ideas in the community as a whole. There are a couple of ways we stay engaged. We enjoy doing house visits for our clients to make sure their needs and desires are being met. We also participate in local activities, sponsor local organizational events, and enjoy offering free continuing education opportunities.
Providing Respite Care for 'Team Gleason'
Right at Home is a proud provider of respite care for Team Gleason. Part of the mission of Team Gleason is to not only help improve life for people living with ALS but, also their family caregivers. By offering family caregivers intervals of relief through Team Gleason, Right at Home can help reduce the physical and emotional stress that often comes with being a full-time caregiver. If you would like more information on Team Gleason and how to qualify for respite care, click here.
Team Gleason participant, Dan, appreciates the services that his Right at Home caregiver provides. Even though ALS has robbed him of his ability to use his voice, he hasn’t lost his joie de vivre. Every morning, he posts a new pair of socks on Facebook for everyone to enjoy. We were honored that he featured his Right at Home socks!
Angels Preparing Nations Donation
Right at Home Acadiana recently made a donation to Angels Preparing Nations, a local non-profit ministry founded by our caregiver Rombulus Washington. The donation was in honor of a client that Mr. Washington attended to for over three years. The special bond that our client and caregiver shared is a perfect example of our company mission, “to improve the quality of life for those we serve.”

Supporting Our Right at Home Heroes
Thank you to Ann Dubois, art teacher at Lafayette High School, for creating this special artwork in honor of our everyday heroes! Right at Home caregivers and staff work hard to help keep seniors safe during the Coronavirus pandemic. Our caregivers are essential to who we are and essential to what we do. Right at Home could not be prouder of the professionalism and compassion shown by our caregivers.

Painting with a twist at The Blake in Lafayette
Right at Home sponsored the first ever painting party with memory care residents at The Blake Assisted Living/Memory Care. We brought Painting with a Twist to The Blake’s newly constructed activity center and the painting instructors guided the residents and their families to paint a special Louisiana landscape. It was a wonderful bonding experience between the residents, their families, and Right at Home caregivers!

Neither snow, nor rain, nor heat, nor gloom of night stays these caregivers from their swift completion of their appointed rounds.
On June 6, 2019 heavy rains caused many of our streets to flood. A lot of caregivers were unable to make their shifts that began between the hours of 6a-9a. We had a group of caregivers that either left early enough in the anticipation of the storms, or stayed over when relief couldn’t arrive, or pushed through and made it safely to their shifts. We were so graciously humbled at their commitment to their client’s, team members, and love of job that we decided to reward them.
