Our Mission

Put simply, our mission is to improve the quality of life for those we serve. Of course, we recognize that everyone’s idea of “quality of life” is different, which is why it’s so important to us to make you an active part of your own care plan. We want you to be in the driver’s seat regardless of any limitations or challenges you’re facing.

Most of all, we believe aging isn’t just about staying healthy, safe and independent. It’s also about living well.

Meet Owners Rob and Sandy Chester

chester

“There’s no place like Home”. Dorothy, from the Wizard of OZ may have made it famous, but nothing stirs the emotions of our hearts more than the word “home”.

The dictionary defines “Home” as:

1. A place where one lives; a residence.
2. The physical structure within which one lives, such as a house or apartment.
3. A dwelling place together with the family or social unit that occupies it; a household.

And our favorite….

4. a. An environment offering security and happiness.
    b. A valued place regarded as a refuge or place of origin.

Our Right at Home Start

Right at Home Lancaster and Chester Counties, located in Gap, PA opened its doors in 2012 by Rob and Sandy Chester, who are passionate about reaching out and serving others in an environment offering security, comfort and happiness. “We are privileged to offer and extend care to those in need, while allowing them to stay in the comfort of their own home.”

Faith Driven

Right at Home aspires to godliness and upholding biblical principles. We are committed to effective accountability, building character, instilling hope, balanced living and establishing healthy, life changing relationships. Right at Home is a business with a tradition of serving people and helping customers in the spirit of Christ. We are called to use our God-given talents to benefit our customers, employees, the church and community.

Sandy and Rob's Backgrounds

Sandy is a registered nurse with over 35 years of experience providing care. She has specialized in helping adults recover from cardiac related issues and has much experience with homecare. She worked in several hospitals before becoming a RN Case manager for a homecare agency. Sandy has provided and coordinated care for patients and their families while they recovered in the comfort of their own home. Her commitment and compassion are to ensure the overall well-being of all people.

Rob has nearly 30 years of experience in the insurance industry. He left corporate America to pursue making a difference in the lives of the people and the community around him. His life experiences have given him the skills needed to serve the community through the pressures of these ever-changing days.

Rob and Sandy are members of the Gap Town Clock Centennial Lion’s Club, Home Care Association of America and Southern Lancaster County Chamber of Commerce.

Our Personal Lives

Rob and Sandy lived in Lancaster County for 20 years, before moving to Chester County in 2015. They have been married for 34 years. They have 2 incredibly amazing adult children and one high-spirited Labrador Retriever. When not working, Sandy and Rob enjoy being outdoors and spending time with their family. We especially love being on the water, fishing and boating.

Life is made up of precious moments that make our days meaningful. No matter where “home” is, a little assistance from Right at Home Lancaster and Chester Counties will help maintain independence, add joy to the day and provide security and safety. “We feel honored and blessed to walk this journey with you and your family.”

Meet The Team

Congratulations to Owner Sandra Chester, RN on receiving her Certification from the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP)

The Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) is the earned credential that recognizes the highest standard in Alzheimer’s and Dementia education to health care professionals. The CDP certification demonstrates the achievement of specialized training in the areas of Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care.

Dementia in itself is not a single disease, but a general term to describe symptoms of impairment in memory, communication, and thinking. Dementia is a loss of memory and other mental abilities that affect daily life. An estimated 5.8 million Americans of all ages are currently living with Alzheimer's dementia.

As a Certified Dementia Practitioner, Sandy has the necessary educational tools to lead The Right at Home Caregiving staff to provide the best quality of care for our clients with Alzheimer’s and Dementia. Additionally, our agency can provide families with the security and comfort in knowing that their loved one is being cared by a skilled, caring and competent professional.
