The Jack Evans Senior Citizens Center opened in March of 1996 and offers a supportive environment for the Sherwood community's seniors through a number of events and services. The center is open to anyone 50 years of age or older. Activities are a large part of the daily offerings of the center. A few of the activities include card games, dominoes, bingo, Zumba, jewelry class, scrapbook/crop, line dancing, aerobics, beanbag baseball.
ARChoices in Homecare is a Medicaid program that includes home and community-based services for adults ages 21 through 64 with a physical disability and seniors age 65 or older. The mission of AGEC is to provide free community and health professional programs focused on geriatric training and education. This unique structure is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and was manufactured in 1936 by Justin Matthews Company for the Pierce Oil Company. Pierce Oil was one of the "baby Standards" formed after the U.S. Government's breakup of John D. Rockefeller's Standard Oil Company in 1911. The fully restored round, turreted building now serves as a Sherwood Police substation.
