The Jack Evans Senior Citizens Center opened in March of 1996 and offers a supportive environment for the Sherwood community's seniors through a number of events and services. The center is open to anyone 50 years of age or older. Activities are a large part of the daily offerings of the center. A few of the activities include card games, dominoes, bingo, Zumba, jewelry class, scrapbook/crop, line dancing, aerobics, beanbag baseball.
ARChoices in Homecare is a Medicaid program that includes home and community-based services for adults ages 21 through 64 with a physical disability and seniors age 65 or older. These services can offer help doing everyday activities that you may no longer be able to do for yourself like bathing, dressing, getting around your home, preparing meals, or doing household chores.

The AGEC is funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration’s Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program under grant #U1QHP28723. The mission of AGEC is to provide free community and health professional programs focused on geriatric training and education. Seniors in Arkansas can participate in free Healthy Lifestyle, Alzheimer’s Education and Mind and Body Programs funded by a grant to the UAMS Arkansas Geriatric Education Collaborative by HRSA and HHS. These amazing programs are free to the public and by request for large groups such as churches, senior facilities and other community-based organizations serving the older adult and caregivers in Arkansas. Virtual programs through workshops and educational events, podcasts, online videos, free continuing education and other methods are available, as well.
iCAN is the Arkansas statewide Assistive Technology program designed to make technology available and accessible for everyone who needs it. This unique structure is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and was manufactured in 1936 by Justin Matthews Company for the Pierce Oil Company. Pierce Oil was one of the "baby Standards" formed after the U.S. Government's breakup of John D. Rockefeller's Standard Oil Company in 1911. The fully restored round, turreted building now serves as a Sherwood Police substation.
