2019 Smash Out Alzheimer's
FREEHOLD – In honor of Alzheimer’s Awareness Month, mark your calendars for Sunday, November 24 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for Second Annual “Smash Out Alzheimer’s” fundraiser to benefit Alzheimer’s New Jersey, that will be hosted at Mattison Crossing at Manalapan Avenue in Freehold. This unique and fun-filled event is free and open to the public. For a $2.00 donation, participants will get a pumpkin, decorate it then smash it in the Assisted Living Community’s courtyard; and ALL proceeds will be contributed to the non-profit providing continuous support for New Jersey individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s. The event was created last year by Beth Sholom, Owner/Executive Director for Right at Home of Central New Jersey; who wanted to bring awareness and raise funds to support this statewide charity. Highlights of the event include an official Kick Off at 11 a.m. with “VIP Smashers” who will be smashing the initial pumpkins. Joe Jedlowski, President of Milestone Retirement, J. Nolan Higgins, Mayor of Borough of Freehold; Shain Cohen, Executive Director of Mattison Crossing, Beth Sholom, Owner/Executive Director for Right at Home Central New Jersey and Lisa Giuriceo, Director of Special Events for Alzheimer’s New Jersey will be starting the event.
Other exciting highlights include more than 35 Crafters and Community vendors, Gift Basket raffles, eight live bands from Music University; band members range in age from 8-17 years old, four dance performances by Dance Attitudes, dancers range in age from 13-17 years old, Gift Basket raffles, Puppy Picture Station, food and complimentary holiday gift wrapping.
