Celebrating 30 Years of Excellence
Right at Home's Journey and Future
Right at Home is thrilled to celebrate its 30th anniversary, marking three decades of providing exceptional in-home care and support to seniors and adults with disabilities who wish to live in their homes. This milestone was commemorated with a high-energy, "Back to the Future"-themed annual conference in Omaha, Nebraska, where the company’s national headquarters are located. Just like Marty McFly and Doc Brown, attendees felt as if they were stepping into a DeLorean, traveling back in time to reflect on the past while accelerating to 88 miles per hour toward a future filled with innovation and promise.
A Look Back: The Journey of Right at Home
Since its inception by Allen Hager in 1995, Right at Home has expanded from a single location in Fremont, Nebraska, to become an international franchise with 775 locations worldwide, including 566 domestic and 209 international franchises. The first international franchise was established in the United Kingdom in 2010, and now Right at Home operates in 46 U.S. states, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and the Netherlands.

Over the last 30 years, the company has touched the lives of more than 830,000 individuals globally, providing essential services to seniors and adults with disabilities. The commitment to innovation, advocacy, and helping families navigate their unique aging journeys has solidified Right at Home's position as a leader in professional in-home care.
Reflecting on this remarkable journey, Margaret Haynes, President and CEO of Right at Home, shared, "We are excited to celebrate 30 years, and it is very special to commemorate our anniversary right here in Omaha, so close to where it all began. It is amazing to look back on the brand’s journey and the countless lives touched along the way. Our mission, to improve the quality of life for those we serve, is a reality because of the incredible dedication of Right at Home’s franchisees and their caregivers and staff.”
The Annual Conference: A Celebration of Legacy, Caregiving, and Innovation
The annual conference at the CHI Health Center in Omaha brought together more than 600 national and international franchisees, office staff, and corporate staff. The event featured motivational speakers, educational sessions, and celebrations, such as “Biff Tanner’s Casino Royale,” all incorporating the "Back to the Future" theme. Attendees were thrilled to explore the “Doc Brown Discovery Zone” and even got a chance to see a DeLorean up close, adding a nostalgic touch to the festivities.
Key sessions included a special address by CEO and President Margaret Haynes and Founder Allen Hager, who reflected on the company's 30-year journey and shared their vision for the future. Setting the year to 1995, they highlighted the milestones and innovations that have driven Right at Home forward.
Following this address, long-standing Right at Home franchisees took the stage to look back at their own evolution and personal journeys, while franchisee legacies shared how they will carry the mission forward in the future. Right at Home proudly boasts more than 30 franchisees who have passed their passion for helping others to the next generation. Gabrielle Kenney, daughter of Jay Kenney and Rosaleen Doherty, owners of Right at Home Boston North, Massachusetts and Portland, Maine, reflected on her journey, saying, "I knew I wanted a career where I am able to make a difference, and Right at Home gave me that opportunity to do more than just a job, but to give seniors the gift of aging safely in place.”
The conference then shifted gears, accelerating toward 88 miles per hour, to focus on the future of caregiving. Sessions on emerging technologies and innovative practices highlighted how Right at Home is as forward-thinking as Doc Brown himself.
The annual conference concluded with Right at Home’s 2025 Caregiver of the Year awards, recognizing 13 caregivers from across the globe for their dedication, compassion, and exceptional service. Being nominated and recognized among thousands of caregivers is a high honor. Bob White, owner of Right at Home Twin Cities, Minnesota, shared its value by saying, "Our company is only as good as the people we hire. Our caregivers are the best of the best. They give us our reputation and do an amazing job improving the quality of life for those we serve.”
A Look Ahead: Leading the Future of Home Care
Right at Home showed its commitment to leading the future of home care through emerging technologies and strategic alliances. These provide their own "1.21 gigawatts" of power, driving innovation and improving health outcomes.
RightAssist, a new program rolling out this year, features a discreet wellness bracelet that connects users with their families, helping adults safely age in place. It offers 24/7 fall detection and, through a secure mobile app, smart alerts that provide wellness insights about changes in sleep patterns, bed exits, walking speed, and decreased outings.
The company has also formed a strategic alliance with PocketRN to pilot a dementia support program. PocketRN has been selected by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to participate in the Guiding an Improved Dementia Experience (GUIDE) Model, providing continuous education, coaching, monitoring, and emotional support for those with dementia and their families. Participating Right at Home local offices will complement these services with in-home safety evaluations and caregiving services.
Right at Home has also announced a collaboration with RespirAI Medical to secure a BIRD Foundation grant to advance home monitoring that can track multiple chronic conditions, such as COPD, and warn of potential health deterioration.
“I am excited to see how we can lead the future of home care through innovation, advocacy, and strategic alliances,” said Haynes. “Through our commitment to evolving and improving home care, we can continue to meet families where they are in their aging journey today and in the future. Together, we will keep making a profound impact on the lives of those who need us most.”
Looking Forward With Gratitude
As Right at Home celebrates its 30th anniversary on May 12, 2025, the company remains dedicated to enhancing the lives of seniors and adults with disabilities through professional in-home care.
“The ’Back to the Future’-themed conference was a fun way to reflect on the company’s rich history while innovating for a brighter future,” said Brady Schwab, Chief Growth and Strategic Operations Officer at Right at Home. “Just like the flux capacitor is what makes the DeLorean travel through time, our innovation, advocacy, and collaboration are what propel us forward, ensuring a brighter future for those we serve.”
With a compassionate community of franchise owners and caregivers, Right at Home continues to lead the way in professional in-home care. Here's to another 30 years of excellence and beyond.
