Walking for a Good Cause

It was a beautiful day at the Oklahoma Parkinson's Alliance walk this weekend. The turnout for our team was small but mighty.

The non-profit raised $82,269.90 exceeding their goal of $80,000 which helps fund support services for those living with Parkinson's and their carers all year long! We hope to see you next year!

Thank you to everyone who participated!

Coffee, Pastries, and Plenty of Heart

We had such a meaningful day at the Harrah Senior Center during our Outreach Day! Our team brought coffee, pastries, and plenty of heart to share as we spent time with residents, answering questions and having honest conversations about hospice and home care. It was a chance to clear up myths, offer guidance, and simply connect with an amazing group of seniors.

Big thanks to the wonderful staff at Harrah Senior Center for having us—we’re so grateful for the opportunity to support and serve our community.

Combatting Critical Food Insecurity

Last week, Bethany Andrews from our Right at Home offices had the opportunity to volunteer at the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma as part of her journey through the Oklahoma Aging Advocacy Leadership Academy (OAALA). The class learned about the vital work the food bank is doing across the state to combat food insecurity, especially among older Oklahomans. From innovative food distribution programs to senior-focused partnerships, it was both eye-opening and inspiring to see how they’re addressing this critical issue.

It was a meaningful, educational experience that reminded us how powerful community efforts can be—and how important it is to advocate for those who often go unseen. "I am so grateful for this opportunity and for everyone working hard every day to make a difference."

Helping Seniors Find Help They Need

We had a lot of fun today educating the public at Del City Community Center about the resources available to help seniors at home and making connections with others who provide great support!

Of particular interest was our veterans benefits and transportation services, all vital services, especially for seniors who want to stay in their homes as long as possible. Home care and home health aides can really make a difference in maintaining independence, and transportation is such an essential piece of the puzzle for those who may have limited mobility.

Keeping Up-To-Date With The State

Representatives from Right at Home Edmond, Norman, and Stillwater recently attended the Oklahoma Department of Human Services. At the event we learned about the many complex and evolving issues facing seniors in our state and the solutions proposed to address them. There is a lot of work to do and Right at Home is excited to be a part of it!

Community Comes Together
To Fight Parkinson's Disease

A beautiful Saturday morning unfolded with an outpouring of support, compassion, and unity as local Right at Home owners and Care Teams walked together to raise awareness and funds for Parkinson's disease. The atmosphere was electric, filled with hope and determination to make a difference in the lives of those affected by this condition. Wheeler Park provided the perfect backdrop for this inspiring event, with its picturesque scenery and serene trails. We were truly humbled to witness the strength and resilience of the Parkinson's community and their loved ones.

Senior Resource Luncheon

Recently Right at Home Edmond, Norman and Stillwater attended a 'Senior Resources Luncheon' at Acclaim Living by Legends. We are always excited to share with others about the many resources in our community to help make senior living as health and active as possible. The event also covered what Living by Legends offers to residents. It was a great time! We look forward to more opportunities to support our community.

Education and Sharing With Partners

Recently Right at Home Edmond, Norman and Stillwater joined with other Oklahoma City-area Right at Home offices to help educate and share industry knowledge during a case conference with Elara Caring.

We educated the team about how we assist clients in the home with bathing, meal preparation, transportation and companionship.

Recently Right at Home Edmond, Norman and Stillwater attended an Easter-themed healthcare fair at Cushing Senior Citizen Center put on by Hillcrest Hospital. It was a great opportunity to engage with the community and interact with other businesses in the area! We were able to educate community members about our services for veterans, medication management, free nurse assessments and more!
