Harley Cohen
Owner
Harley has been the owner of Right at Home-North Dallas since he opened his doors back in early 2006. In addition to his health care experience of 17-years, Harley has over 20-years of business experience in the airline, technology and financial sectors. In 2017, Harley was one of only 41-franchisees who made Franchise Business Review’s List of Rockstar Franchisees from a list of 30,000 franchisees considered who have demonstrated outstanding leadership skills and business acumen and who have made significant contributions to their communities. He has served several years on the Board of the Dallas Area Gerontological Society (DAGS) and was the President for a low-income senior housing community. Harley enjoys being an avid runner for over 45-years and traveling with his family. Harley is married with one son and has resided in the Dallas area for over 30-years.
Melissa White
Operations Manager
Melissa’s role at Right at Home North Dallas is to manage the overall operations of the company to ensure client and caregiver satisfaction while ensuring the company is fully compliant with its state licensure. She has a degree in Healthcare Administration from Indiana Tech University. She brings 25 years’ experience in the industry including Area Director for CareerStaff Unlimited, Director of Recruitment for the Visiting Nurse Association, and Vice President of Operations for Home Care Providers of Texas. When asked why she chose to bring her professional abilities to Right at Home, Melissa said, “I had the distinct honor of caring for my mom who suffered from dementia for the last 4½ years of her life. I was the family looking for assistance in taking care of her. I met fantastic caregivers and some not so good caregivers. I knew when I applied for this role that I could bring a very personal approach to this organization. I strive for excellence every day in remembrance of my mom.” Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband of 2½ years and their combined family of 6 children and 3 grandchildren.
Katie Schafer
Recruiter
Katie is the office’s Recruiter, meaning she is responsible for caregiver retention, interviewing caregivers and office staff, and for on-boarding and orientation of new hires. She draws from her experience in customer service, sales and employee recognition programs. Katie brings a lot of value to the company with great communications skills and rapport building. She joined Right at Home North Dallas because she wanted to be part of something bigger than herself. Katie’s late grandmother and my mom were in the healthcare field all their lives. Outside of work, she enjoys finding old furniture at garage and estate sales, and bringing them back to life!
Dorie Cavins
Registered Nurse
Dorie is responsible for evaluating each client’s needs, working on custom care plans, supervision of care for clients, and nurse delegation and supervision. She is a Registered Nurse with 40 years’ experience in healthcare and homecare industries as both a nurse and an administrator. When asked why she chose in-home care and Right at Home she said, “I enjoy the autonomy of providing compassionate in-home care to clients who want to live in the comfort of their own homes with the dignity and respect they deserve. Really, it’s a calling to support those in need.” In her spare time Dorie enjoys gardening, yoga, physical workouts, volunteering, and frequent game nights.
Kristi Jemeyson
Care Manager
Kristi is responsible for client consultations, building custom care plans, reviewing those custom care plans, and making revisions to the plans over time to best meet clients’ wants and needs for care as their circumstances evolve. She studied at Central Texas College and Drexel University, and has 15 years’ professional experience in senior homecare. When asked why she chose Right at Home as part of her career she said, “I spent an emotional and tough time helping my mother during her battle with colon cancer. Mom passed in 2002, and the experiences caring for her during such a deep time of need really brought my passion for helping others to the forefront of my life.” When not working, Kristi loves to read, travel, and play with her grandbabies.
Kristen Jackson
Registered Nurse
Kristen has been a Registered Nurse for over 15 years graduating from University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, TX. The first 4 years of her career were spent working in hospitals, including NYU Medical Center in New York City, on post-surgical units and inpatient physical rehabilitation. Due to the strong bond she had with both of her grandmothers and their experience with nursing homes and hospice, Kristen felt called into geriatric nursing. She has held Director of Nursing positions at Skilled Nursing Communities for over 7 years as well as certifications in Assisted Living and Legal Nurse Consulting. She continues to consult on legal cases and in long term care compliance. Kristen is an active member of St. Rita Catholic Community in Dallas volunteering to bring communion to the sick and homebound and educating the parish on various topics including Dementia and end of life issues. Kristen is blessed with her loving husband and 4 wonderful children who keep her humble and busy. Kristen feels truly honored to be a nurse and serve those most in need in the community.
Tonya Godbehere
On-Call Specialist
Tonya Godbehere was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. She loves spending time with her large family especially her 2 grandbabies. She is a Dallas Cowboy fan and loves watching football. She also likes to cuddle with her two dogs Chloe, her Min-Pin and Daisy, her Chi-Pin. Spare time volunteering with local animal shelter and at her children’s ministry at church where she is an active member. Tonya is our after hours on-call specialist who handles all the client and caregivers call after 5 pm on weekdays and all weekend long. Right at Home is proud to have Tonya who has been with us for over 8 years.
Kimberly Nichols
Staffing Coordinator
Kimberly is responsible for scheduling care and conducting new client introductions. She has more than 20 years experience in the healthcare and insurance industries. Kimberly most recently worked 13 years as a Client Liaison for a Local Home Health Agency. She has also worked in Project Management/Implementation for National Accounts with three major insurance companies for nearly 10 years. When asked what brought her to senior care she said, "Initially I need to provide for myself. But after seeing the way the many disabled and elderly are treated, I realized I needed to not just work, but work to make a difference, one client at a time." Outside of work, Kimberly loves singing, fashion, and cooking.
