"Right at Home is a really great place to work! I enjoy my job and the owner Harley cares a lot about all of us. Plus, the care team and office staff are great . . . love all you guys! I get to actually help seniors and adults with disabilities in need, all while having fun with them. Some are really stuck because they don't have any way to get out or can't afford it. It's part of my job to help them get out of their houses and see a bigger world than they normally could without me. It means so much to me!"Jesslyn, Caregiver with Right at Home

Caregiver Spotlight – Sherry Miller

Right at Home North Dallas is pleased to shine the spotlight on Sherry Miller, our February Caregiver of the Month. Sherry joined our organization September 13, 2023. She has been an amazing asset to Right at Home. Her skills, compassion, and consistency as a caregiver has provided several of our clients the opportunity to feel supported and loved in their home.

Sherry has the true heart of a caregiver. Sherry shared that her oldest sister is a nurse and she inspired her with shared stories of how she assisted and cared for people. That inspired her to become a caregiver and truly loves what she does. She loves working for Right at Home because when she is faced with uncertainty, she knows that she can call the company and we will immediately support her. She said that her most fond memory of caregiving is a client that was a fall risk and she knew she had to be near her. She heard her getting up because her walker squeaked and went over to assist her. The client said, “How did you know I needed help?” Sherry said, “I heard your walker squeaking.” The client was frustrated and said “My walker does not squeak! Get away from me!” Sherry said now anytime she hears someone squeak when they walk, she fondly remembers this client.

Sherry works with some of our dementia/Alzheimer clients and is very successful because she realizes that the disease is the cause of the frustrations, and she understands how to redirect and encourage clients to achieve their ultimate outcomes.

Thank you Sherry for all you do for Right at Home, and for the care and compassion you have for clients. You are truly exceptional!
