Phyllis Newbert, Vice President
Phyllis Newbert joined Right at Home in 2018 after working in the fields of cardiology and diabetes management for over 20 years. She held the positions of Vice President of both CardioLink Corp. and The Heart Saver Institute and Manager of Special Projects for MedAssurant Inc. Phyllis has always found it rewarding to help the senior population whether for cardiac issues or to provide diabetes education to the Medicare population. Phyllis learned firsthand about the excellent quality of care provided by Right at Home North Shore when seeking care for her elderly disabled father several years ago and is proud to be affiliated with such an outstanding organization. As Vice President and Administrator of Right at Home North Shore LI and Eastern Queens, Phyllis leads a team of dedicated professionals who truly care about the “quality of life of those we serve” as well as the compassionate caregivers who help make it possible.
Kerri Sammis, Office Manager
Kerri grew up on Long Island and joined Right at Home in March 2010 as a companion caregiver. She says, “My mom suffered with Spinal Stenosis and other ailments. She had limited mobility due to severe pain. Thinking back, I wish my mom had someone to help her besides me and my sister. That is why I decided to be a caregiver after she passed away.” Kerri had been a stay-at-home mom, raising her family and working part-time with Twinkle Town Entertainment for Winthrop Pediatric Cancer Center, where she still volunteers. In December, 2010 she started working part-time for Right at Home as a receptionist and administrative assistant. Since then, she has taken on more responsibilities by learning on the job and going back to school part-time. In 2016, she received her certification in Bookkeeping.
Kerri enjoys spending time with family and friends. What she finds most rewarding about working with Right at Home is that “Right at Home as a whole does great work with helping both the elderly and supporting the family through difficult times.”
