At Right at Home You're More Than a "Number"

At Right at Home North Suburban Chicago, we have an all-hands-on-deck attitude. Clients do not get passed around on the phone, and neither does our Care Team of caregivers, CNAs, and nurses. That also means we would never expect something of our Care Team that we, in the office, would not do.

That was obvious when we had our first COVID+ client. When it took us a few days to staff, every member of the office team stepped up, suited up, and took shifts in a COVID+ environment. We like to refer to ourselves as a Team because we function with the same purpose.

 

We get to know our Care Team members quite well. We like to support their career growth aspirations, and we have given out multiple scholarships. Some of our office team members have “climbed the ladder” at Right at Home, started as caregivers and have worked their way up to leadership positions. We support our employees when they are in crisis, and we have organized food, clothing, and toy drives to support employees who have needed it.

Training and Resources for You To Thrive

We are certified by Right at Home to offer the RightCare Cognitive Support Program training, by National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners to offer Certified Dementia Practitioner training, and by AGEucate to offer the Dementia Live experience. We want to be sure that our Care Team members are prepared and comfortable providing excellent care to individuals with dementia. Owner Matt Field earned a certificate in Elder Mistreatment and Prevention of Abuse and Neglect in order to train the Right at Home Care Team to not only be caregivers, but also true advocates by recognizing the warning signs of abuse, and understanding how best to respond. Additionally, we offer training on countless topics relevant to caregivers, including everything from personal care assistance to prevention of sexual harassment. In the ever-changing world of care, it is our goal to keep you trained and properly informed. To that end, we established our own dedicated, hands-on caregiver skills training lab.

Orientation and Caregiver‑to‑Client Matching
Once you become a Right at Home caregiver, you'll go through an orientation process to learn our policies and procedures. After that, you’ll be ready to start providing care. Every time you're matched with a new client, you'll receive an orientation on that client's Custom Care Plan and the specifics of their care.

Right at Home caregivers can access hundreds of online trainings through an enhanced learning platform and mobile app called Right at Home University (RAHU). This training is designed to help you become the best caregiver possible.
