Long Term Care Claim Support and Policy Management
Initiating your claim and submitting the supporting documents for your long-term care insurance policy can be daunting if you're unfamiliar with the process, but Right at Home of Northern Virginia is here to help. While we are not professional long term care insurance advisers, we provide long-term care insurance claim support and policy management, and do so for over 1/3 of our clients.
Our team has extensive experience in helping clients through the claims process and have received special training exclusive to Right at Home through the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance. Our experience and this training provide us with an industry insider's view as to how to help you get the benefits you're entitled, as quickly as possible.
We Can Help Manage the Invoicing Process
If you choose to complete and submit an Assignment of Benefits form, or AOB, we will manage the invoicing process for you. Designating Right at Home as the beneficiary to your policy allows your insurance company to work with us directly rather than forcing you to act as the middle man. In order to ensure they reimburse for the services provided, we submit all supporting documents such as: the RN Care Plan, the caregivers daily activity sheets, and all detailed invoices outlining exact services provided.

The biggest regret we hear from clients regarding long term care insurance policies is that they wished they took advantage of their benefits sooner! Contact Right at Home so we can review your policy together.
Below are some tips for getting started:
► Unlike most health insurance, where the hospital or physician's office process insurance claims, long term care insurance requires that the policy holder file the claim. Make sure you call your long term care insurance provider to understand their process for starting a claim as most policies have an elimination period, making it better to start the process as soon as possible.
► Read your long term care policy and pay particular attention to the 'policy schedule' or 'outline of coverage', this provides a summary of available benefits. Key terms include ‘waiting or elimination period’, ‘benefits covered’, ‘maximum daily reimbursement’, and ‘lifetime benefits.’
► Follow the claim initiation process required by your insurance carrier exactly, including correct completion of all paperwork. Many families find that it's helpful to assign one family member to work with the long term care insurance carrier to ensure that all necessary steps are completed correctly. Once you have completed all necessary forms to initiate the claim and submitted the Assignment of Benefit form, or AOB, Right at Home will take care of the rest!
► While our Right at Home office staff are not a professional long term care insurance advisers, we're happy to share our years of experience in working with long term care insurance companies to guide you through the claim initiation process.
