Owners Marc & Kristin Sokol
Right at Home of Northwest Indiana is a family-run business owned and operated by Marc and Kristin Sokol. Marc and Kristin chose to open their Right at Home office because of their personal desire to provide the gold standard in high quality, dependable, and affordable home care to seniors who wish to age in place in Northwest Indiana.
Marc was born and raised in the community he now serves, and his family has been caring for people in Northwest Indiana for many years. His father, Dr. Allen Sokol, was a doctor in the Region for nearly 45 years. His mother, Carole, who now proudly serves as part of the Right at Home team (see below), served the community’s residents as a social worker for more than two decades. From his parents, Marc inherited a passion for helping those in need.
Marc serves as the President of Right at Home and runs the day-to-day operations of the business. He is well trained in both law and business. After growing up in Munster, Marc went to college nearby, at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. He then founded and operated a successful Indiana business, earned a law degree from Indiana University, Bloomington, and an MBA from Duke University. After working as an attorney at a large law firm in Chicago for more than 11 years, Marc decided to return to his roots to open Right at Home in his hometown community in Northwest Indiana, where he is proud to carry on his family’s tradition of serving people in the community in which he grew up.
Kristin Sokol is responsible for hiring the highest quality caregivers in Northwest Indiana. She is well suited to the task, as she has a Master’s degree and twelve years’ experience in human resources. Kristin earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Illinois, Champaign, and worked in the human resources department of a large Chicago law firm for more than a decade. Through her education and work experience, Kristin has developed an expertise in all aspects of the employment relationship, including recruiting, screening, training, employee policies and procedures, and employee relations. Kristin enjoys using her training and experience to hire, train, and retain the top quality caregivers and supporting staff in Northwest Indiana.
Marc and Kristin have developed and cultivated a culture of caring in their business. They are here to serve you, their clients, by caring for you and your loved ones as you would want to be cared for. Together with their compassionate and highly-valued staff, Marc and Kristin strive every day to provide Northwest Indiana seniors with the highest quality home care possible.
The couple and their staff understand the importance of community. That is why Right at Home Northwest Indiana is often time a sponsor, a vendor and/or a participant in community events such as the Walk to End Alz, Senior Day at Lake County Fair, Annual Spaghetti Supper, and more.
