Recognizing Our Wonderful Right at Home Caregivers

Announcing May 2019's ...

CAREGIVER OF THE MONTH —
HARRIET HOUSER

Please join us in congratulating our May 2019 Caregiver of the Month, Harriet Houser!

Harriet started with Right at Home in February of this year, and shortly thereafter she started working with a client who she has cared for ever since! She is a live-in caregiver on this case, meaning Harriet spends multiple consecutive days at a time with her client each week.

Harriet’s client is a sweet man, but he has dementia, which requires extra patience and diligence from Harriet. Last month, Harriet’s client experienced frequent mood swings and Harriet provided him with comfort and reassurance to make him feel better during this difficult time. Eventually, Harriet’s client was admitted to a facility for evaluation and treatment for ten days. Instead of complaining that she had temporarily lost her client, Harriet gladly picked up work with other clients, including both hourly and live-in work.

When Harriet’s client came home, Harriet was there to greet him with a smile on her face, and she spent the first few days with him to help him adjust back to his normal routine. The family of Harriet’s client often praises Harriet for her gentleness with their father and her willingness to do what it takes to improve the quality of his life. In addition to this client, Harriet has helped other clients who require a high degree of personal care, including clients with dementia.

With each client, Harriet has exceeded our expectations by using her skillset to ensure her clients’ comfort, happiness, and well-being. Harriet, a huge thank you for providing the gold standard of care that Right at Home is known for!

As a reward for earning the Caregiver of the Month award, Harriet will receive a $100 bonus, be given Right at Home apparel, have her name engraved on the Caregiver of the Month plaque in our office, and receive company-wide recognition.

TEAM PLAYER OF THE MONTH —
NICOLLE KANIEWSKI

Please join us in congratulating Nicolle Kaniewski, our May 2019 Team Player of the Month!

Nicolle is a live-in caregiver who helps to care for the same client as Harriet. Although Nicolle is a new employee of Right at Home, she has already demonstrated a skill and passion for caregiving that has made a huge impression on us. On her FIRST DAY as a Right at Home caregiver, Nicolle left orientation to go meet with a potential client. That client’s family liked Nicolle so much they asked her to return the next day! Since then, her client’s family has repeatedly praised Nicolle for her caregiving, including her ability and willingness to calm her client with friendly and caring touches. For example, when her client’s dementia causes him to get frustrated, Nicolle will calm him down by placing her hand on his and by rubbing his arm to let him know that she is there for him. With her gentle techniques and personal touches, Nicolle has immensely helped to improve her client’s well-being and happiness. And that’s what it’s all about!

In addition to providing excellent care, Nicolle always clocks in and out on time and regularly updates the office on her client’s condition. Nicolle, thank you for upholding the gold standard of care and being part of our culture of excellence!

As a reward for earning the Team Player of the Month award, Nicolle will receive a $50 bonus and company-wide recognition.

HONORABLE MENTIONS

In a first for this Caregiver Awards Newsletter, we would like to say a special thank you to Ernestina Nelson and Victoria Hopper, two of our wonderful caregivers who recently stepped up to do live-in shifts during some very last-minute situations. Live-in clients require caregivers to stay and care for them multiple days at a time, and in order to help out the Right at Home team and our clients, Ernestina and Victoria willingly and cheerfully dropped some of their own personal plans and rearranged their weeks so they could take these shifts to ensure that our clients received the best care possible. So here’s a special shout out to Ernestina and Victoria. Thank you for all that you do, and all you have done!

We would also like to congratulate our May 2019 All-Stars, who will be awarded a $20 gift card to Meijer and receive company-wide recognition. Right at Home All-Stars are selected based on several factors, including excellence in regularly clocking in and out on time, not calling off shifts, and providing great care to clients. Total hours worked for the month and a willingness to cover shifts and be a team player are also considered.

We are the Right People, Doing the Right Things, the Right Way, for the Right Reason

During my recovery from foot surgery, I had the BEST care takers who took care of both my Mom and I. Each person has their special talent and way of making us feel comfortable. If the need should ever arise, I will feel comfortable knowing Mom will get the wonderful care this company provides.
