Managing Pain

We regularly present  workshops on Managing Pain for seniors and their loved ones in the Orange County area. On Friday Vernon Atwood and his daughter, Jacqueline visited Whittier Medical Center where they tried out different poses that stretch your body and relieve pain. The father-daughter team also screened an episode of Feel Grand with Jane Seymour that addressed pain management.

Wall Street Journal: New Medicare Payment Rules

In a recent article by Melinda Beck, the Wall Street Journal detailed changes in Medicare reimbursements for hospitals. These new rules make home care a more important part of a patient's recovery.  Using in-home care can help hospitals reduce readmission rates and, therefore, ensure that the hospital doesn't lose its Medicare reimbursements.

Stay Independent

We hosted a great mix of adult children who are taking care of their parents. We also had seniors who may be needing care in future.

Right at Home in Compliance with California’s New Stricter Requirements for Home Care Agencies Effective January 1, 2016

The New Year is bringing new standards to the home care industry for operators in California. On January 1, 2016, California adopted stricter requirements for home care aides and their employing agencies, including background checks, mandatory training hours and licensing. The law is designed to protect vulnerable clients by requiring registration, screening, training and insurance for all home care aides employed by an agency. Right at Home, a leading senior care franchise, is well-equipped and prepared to remain one of the most trusted sources for home care in the state in light of this change.
